Hi MGKelly.

Just to add a little more if I may...

One must remember that realistically we only need to be accepted by a few people such as close friends, fellow workers, and family.  Those who we meet while going about our daily lives really don't count, they are fleeting encounters and whether or not they accept us as men or women doesn't really matter.

Lets face it we all see people who cause us to take a second look: Those who are extremely tall or short; those who are extremely slim or large; those with visible disabilities; GG's who look masculine and GM's who look feminine etc.  I'm not sure of the statistics but generally the incidence of TS's in the communities we live is small so more often than not people will see you as may be a little odd, it's not the end of the world.

So if you don't pass every time at the moment don't sweet it, look to the future, work on those things you can fix and live with those you can't.

Wow. SO much wisdom in this post. We get so focused on our own image (for obvious reasons) that we forget that anyone "odd" gets a little more "rude" attention than they want.

I resolved when I started this journey that rude strangers were not entitled to hurt my feelings. the first time I went out dressed (horribly unpassable) I went 60 miles up the road to a Wal mart in a town I don't frequent and just window shopped. At one point a little redneck (who wasn't the most masculine fellow himself) began to follow me at a distance and I could hear him saying to a companion (and then on the phone "oh my god, it's a DUDE!"

No matter how I took a long and winding road hoping he'd lose interest he closed in so finally i stopped and let him go past in the main aisle and I smiled at him as he passed and he kept right on braying into the phone "it IS a dude!!"

I kind of concluded that I'm TS, and he's a moron, and both of us were "out of the closet" on that day.

If he doesn't have to hide his stupidity, I don't have to hide my skirt, right?
Disclaimer: due to serious injury, most of my posts are made via Dragon Dictation which sometimes butchers grammar and mis-hears my words. I'm also too lazy to closely proof-read which means some of my comments will seem strange.
