Finally got in to a doctors and many months of "sorry we're full"

Went for my routine check-up today, told them I wanted male hormones. They said they've had quite a few trans patients so they know what they're doing and I just have to make an appointment with a GP (my check-up was with a nurse) tomorrow morning and I can get the ball rolling ;D she said with the way I look and act and the fact that I changed my name ages ago shows I know what I'm doing so I shouldn't have any problems.

I've been stuck at a wall for so long, it's nice to finally be making progress.

I know there's probably a huge waiting list for the endo so I'll be waiting a while for hormones still, but slow and steady wins the race.

I saw a doctor today, waiting over the weekend was annoying

I got a referral to the gender clinic in the hospital ;D just gotta wait for a letter telling when when it is. I'm guessing months away, but still, yay!

also, there was a medical student in the room. The GP didn't have a clue what to do. I explained everything to them both. The GP went off for a while to talk to the other doctors and confirm what I said, then came back and said it should all be fine and I just gotta sit and wait for the referral letter.

I am rather proud of the fact I just taught a medical student something :P hopefully somebody else in my situation will have him as a GP when he's qualified and he will remember what I said xD
