Well, after almost a month of seeing a psychologists 4 times and taking 2 psychological tests it's been decided I'm ready for T. Yeah! :D Right now I'm working on a referral to an endo.

I know they do blood tests before putting you on T but what are they looking for that might prevent/delay you from starting T? I read that T can raise your cholesterol and blood pressure, so if those are really bad I can understand a delay. Anything else?

They would probably just start you off on a lower dose to know what to monitor for if it was high.

I just happen to have my tests sitting right here next to my computer.  Lucky for you I never get around to filing.  ;)  They tested: blood count - hemoglobin, transferase -alanine amino (no idea what that is), and cholesterol - both good and bad.  They also tested current T levels, but only because I requested it.  Fortunately my insurance covered it.  Some don't.

Yeah, we're doing the whole referral thing in hopes that insurance will cover it. So after the test results I assume they have you come in to show you how to administer the shots?

Yeah I had the tests run then I think about a week later an appointment to do my first shot. I know my insurance did not cover it and it cost about $100 for the blood work in the end, I also ran it through insurance as to get the discount. I know someone who had to delay but as you mentioned it was because his cholesterol was too high.
