It appears there are no Metroid fans here, but what about Zelda? everyone loves Zelda right?! (windwaker aside) Well have you seen the released artwork for the newest one to be scheduled for wii?

Hey, I'm a metroid fan - played the ones on 64 and game cube.  Also played most of the Zelda's to completion on the same platforms.  I even liked Wind Waker.  ;D

Lately though, I haven't had much time to play.  :(

I've got a Wii, but haven't seen the latest.  Do you have a link? (no pun intended!!!)

I can't stand the wii, I'm all about ocarina of time  ;D

The newest concept art, and only information revealed so far on the newest Zelda.

Er, there was no Metroid on N64 btw.  I've played and beaten all Metroids currently out, I've played, beaten and OWN all current Zelda games!  Ocarina of Time was THE BEST, with Twilight Princess a close second... I love Midna!  Windwaker sucked major Ganny-testes! Story line was way out of wack, and well look at the little mentally challenged "Link" who isn't in anyway related to Ocarina of time Link by the game's own Admission.  Phantom Hourglass sucked, but was ok, as long as "Toon Link" stays on the DS I'll be happy, but Spirit Tracks looks way too stupid to even bother with.

I believe he's talking about Metroid Prime, which was on the N64.

I like the sequel, Majora's Mask.

As you can see, it is indeed for the GCN.  Maybe they were playing a different game? The was never a Metroid for N64.  Maybe they were playing Super Metroid? on the SNES? I don't know.

I guess I didn't phrase that too well.  First Metroid I played was on Game Cube.

I thought Twilight Princess on Wii was great.

Back to Game Cube - any Pikmin fans?  Pikmin2 not so much, but I really had fun with Pikmin.  I'm a big fan of puzzle type games - any recs for Wii?

Oh yeah, forgot to mention - anybody play Conker's Bad Fur Day?

Zelda's a good one, I did enjoy Wind Waker, but OoT will be my favourite.

Loved Pikmin, and Pikmin 2.  Can't wait for a 3rd!  I've played Conker's Bad Fur Day... never beat it, but peeing on the Gnomes was.. interesting.  I liked the multiplayer in that one, especially the cavemen vs. raptors... loved playing the raptors!

Conker had a lot more disgusting things than that before you got to the end...

I only played Pikmin briefly, but Pikmin 2 was incredible.

Conkers bad fur day was freakin hilarious, one scene that I particularly remember was that giant poop that sang a song XD

I love Zelda ;D I just recently beat Twilight Princess. I'll always be an Ocarina of Time fan though.

Go Ganondorf

Ganny-kins! lol I love Ocarina of Time, I've always thought that if Nintendo wanted some quick money all they would have to do is remake OoT by replacing all the models with Twilight Princess models.  Wouldn't it be awesome playing it with TP Graphics?

Oh God that would be epic. If Nintendo would just keep the characters looking the same but just added the TP graphics it would be so awesome

I did not like the way Ganondorf looked in TP. He didn't look right

See I thought he looked AWESOME in TP, though if they were to use it for a remake of OoT they would have to round out his ears, since Gannondorf was Human in OoT not Hylian.

Played them all except the CD-I games, the Oracle duo, and Minish Cap. Loved everyone I've played, with Link's Awakening being the first game I beat that ever made me cry. (I believe either Earthbound or Final Fantasy VI was the next.) My personal favorite overall is a tie between Twilight Princess and Wind Waker, but if talking story alone I've got to go with Ocarina of Time.

The way the games add just enough "new" each release to keep them from being too simliar but also manage to not seem too foreign amazes me. Hell, Majora's Mask was created almost entirely from art assets reused from Ocarina, yet the mask system, the "Groundhog's Day" hook, and the bizarro world angle made that seem irrelevant.

Like anyone else, I'm eagerly awaiting what kind of "new" will be in the next game. The concept art gives some heavy hints, but I have a feeling no matter how sure we are of what it means, we'll still be surprised in the end.

EDIT: Just read through some of the Toon Link hate. . .I found it's story rather keen, considering it's really the first Legend of Zelda with a tale built around a "Legend of Zelda" in a sense. The "Link" in the game may not have been to be related to the Link of Ocarina of Time, but the game did help reinforce the concept of Link, Zelda, and Ganon's essences being eternal forces with fates intertwined with their world's greatest moments. That alone made me stand-up and take notice. Follow it up with a surprisingly intimidating and sympathetic portrayal of Ganondorf, and I'm one happy player.

Stylistically, I put it up there with Twilight Princess. . .It just represents the other end of the spectrum. A very necessary one, too, I might add. Wind Waker really captured the juxtaposition of Link's youth to the danger at hand. The young Link of OoT may have looked more real, but WW's Link "feels" more real. I'd actually go as far as to say WW's Link has more character period than other incarnations of Link, which I believe was part of the point of the game's style. I'll actually be sad if the Wind Waker world remains confined to the DS; the colors and expressions didn't "pop" very well in Phantom Hourglass due to the hardware's limitations.
