Malana

Hello to everyone!

I'm Malana.....from California.  I had my SRS on 12/11/01 in Portland, which makes me nearly five.  I teach...currently 4th grade, and transitioned on-the-job here in 2000.  I love good conversation and have a wide range of interests.  Today, I live as under-the-radar as I can, and time has allowed most who knew me before, to come to terms.  Thankfully to my students, I'm just Ms. S, and that makes me very happy.  For those of you interested in  the details of my transition in the workplace, you might be intersted in reading One Teacher in 10: Second Edition (2005), found in most major bookstores.  I hope to make some friends here, and a thank you to Susan for providing this forum.

Portland 2001, huh?  well he has moved to Arizona since then ;); it was a very difficult move as I understand it, but either way, he is always very close to me.   :D
Welcome again Malana!  we look forward to your future posts; enjoy your stay!

Hi Malana,

Welcome to Susan's.... I am sure you will make friends here, there is a whole cross spectrum of people from the whole gender spectrum.

You are 3 months older than me, I had SRS im March 2002 and I live very much under the radar as you say.

Enjoy your time here at Susan's

Welcome to Susan's and Hello, Malana!

Out of all the dismal years of my elementary education I loved my 4th grade teacher the best.  She complained to my mom that it killed her to take books away from me!  (I read them to escape - I'm sure you know from what ;))

This is a wonderful site and a great resource.  I hope you find it as informative and personally uplifting as I have.

again, WELCOME ! !  :)

Welcome, Malana.

Teaching is a great profession.

You had your Portland SRS 18 months after I did and 4 months after my husband.

I saw Toby 2 weeks ago.  He's looking good.

Tinkerbell, Rebecca, Brandi, Helen, Amber, Jilleann, Melissa, Robyn, Owen and Julie,

Thank you so much for making me feel welcome.  While I haven't had the chance to figure out all the bells and whistles of this site, I've heard such wonderful things about it and you, the people here.

I'm starting the sixth week of the current term with my fourth graders ans it seems that I'm still catching myself come and going.  I hope each of you is happy and well.  Perhaps I can find time to become more active here soon...I hope so!  In the meantime, know that I appreciate the frienship.

Smiles,  Malana
