Ill post on here later about how rigorous the plane flights were both to get to montreal and back.  Wow took two days to get there because of crappy layovers and tornados in Denver.  Lame.   The way back post op went ok but still really hard.  anyway the trip pretty much killed me when i got back home and im really swollen again.  It also is numb down there.

What were everyone elses healing experience like, especially after a 6 hour flight.  How long to get the novicane like numbness out of that area.  I hate that feeling.  I do have sexual sensation still as the swelling is rubbing on things.  so not worried there, more like skin sensation, is what im asking about

My trip to home from SRS was really painfull despite of being drugged with strong painkillers. It was overnight flight following by an other flight in next day.

no this is two weeks post op.  I feel much better now and I just think my body was devestated. causing alot more swelling and pain.  Now that the swellings gone down a bit i feel better as I can almost acheive the same depth as at the recovery house.  I imagine internal swelling made it harder to achieve that.  Anyway Im on the mend and no more big excursions planned.

I had an excruciating 5 hour car drive home after I was released from the healing centre.  The pain at the end of the trip was unbearable and I too was swollen.  Thankfully everything returned to normal a couple of days later.

Enjoy life and be happy.  You won't be back.

Travel is very hard on your system.

My trip back from Philly to Chi I was exhausted by time I got home and slept for about eighteen hours.

During the flight I was quite uncomfortable because of the small seat and being post op.  Sitting on that stupid donut did very little to make my discomfort any less.

Post op swelling can last weeks.  And getting sensation back can take months.  You'll know that you are making progress when you start feeling "zaps".  These are actually the nerves sending out signals trying to reconnect with other nerves.  It can take quite a while for the feelings to actually return.

Thank you all.  Im really missing my montreal family, its strange how close you can feel to people after only like 10 days.  Its a beautiful thing.  They really are angels there, it broke my heart to leave.

Um, I traded in my 1-1/2 hour plane flight with a great reserved seat for a 7 hour Greyhound bus ride.
On the plus side, I was already 3 weeks post.
I was really tired when I arrived at my destination.
In the first few weeks with the regimen and the tiredness, it's a big chunk of your day.
I got lots of sleep, including afternoon naps. What a life!

I never had any numbness at all afterward.
On the other hand, I still get occasional "Yows!" as random nerves reconnect.
Swelling can take a long time to go down.
Maybe you think that you have no swelling, but a week later more swelling has gone down.

I miss them all too.

Keep in mind that even though your vagina may appear healed after only a few months.  Internally, it's a different story, and it can take up to one year for everything to look, function, and feel the way it's supposed to.

It was over a year before my vagina did look, function and feel the way it was supposed to be, it was nearly 14months before my BF got to try it out, it just takes time for a girl to heal and feel right, my BF at the time said it was worth the wait, I remember at the time when he first said that, it made me feel so feminine, the gain was worth all the pain.

congrats on your surgery. The healing will go down, taking an anti-inflammitory can help (ie, Ibprophen), and remember to try and walk some each day. Walking helps with blood circulation and promotes healing.

Like I said I had a lot more swelling from the flight and its just starting to go down.  I had to get a refill on my pain meds as tylenol just wasn't cutting it.  It helped alot to be out and about, despite the pain.  I think walking in moderation actually helps the swelling go down a bit.  Anyway thanks everyone and ill ttyl.

I would have killed for just 6 hours in flight. LOL. I had some postop cleanup work done by the doc a day before I left and then had a more than 24 hour trip back to the States. I kept popping the pills every 4 hours, just as prescribed plus the Tylenol I had been given. Lots of swelling, lots of hurting, and a week of 4x daily dilation to get back to where I was before the second surgery.

I did not have numbness down below for quite some time. Then lost just about all sensation and it has been slowly returning the last couple of months. I am just a little over a year post-op ATM.

Congrats on surgery!
