Ahh the 4th July, the day us English handed the rights to screw the rest of the world up, over to the Americans (and a truly fine job your doing).

On a serious note, I am being dragged along to a 4th July day BBQ by my American BF, which is being proceeded by a series of Softball games against the US Marines / Navy from a Carrier currently in the Gulf. Those guys and girls deserve their R & R.

I shall proudly wear my England Soccer shirt while I am checking out all those cute US Marines in their crisp white uniforms and forget I have a BF there.

Happy Birthday America......

Indeed, I raise a glass to my colonial cousins and wish you a happy anniversary.  Here's to marble pillars, monuments, eagles and senates! Long live the empire!

We are going to have a 4th July BBQ sausage sizzle. (Hot dogs?) Aussie style, my wife's family still have USA passports. We are having them and some close friends, and I'm supposed to get my ears pierced for the party/BBQ. AHHHH.

Can I say one thing with feeling.
USA gets a lot of bad press and deserves it at times. Why you can have people like Regan and the Bush family lord over the world is an insult. But, thank you for being there. In times of need you as a country have been there. Your politicians mainly seem to stink, but there are good ones we never hear about. The USA people have always been kind and generous with their money, their sons and daughters lives (RIP with true feeling), and sometimes their respect.
I married into an USA family and they have been great, my visits to the USA have been great.
I realise that the rest of the World has a problem. You can't all be Aussies, perfection in the species is limited to the most advanced forms. :-*

Happy 4 july (when it happens) to all my friends in the USA. BTW what do you want to be beaten in next?

Love, Hugs and Laughs to my USA friends and colleagues. Happy 4th July .
