Jennifer Finney Boylan will be reading her memoir, "She's Not There,"
Boylan is a novelist, memoirist, screenwriter and teacher. She is a professor of English at Colby College. Currently, she is working on a new nonfiction work about growing up in a haunted house, which she hopes to release in 2007.
Novelist Jennifer Finney Boylan to speak at APSU
When: Thursday, September 21st 2006 at 8pm
Where: APSU Kimbrough Building's Gentry Auditorium, Clarksville, TN
Admission: Free and open to the public
The best-selling novelist is known mostly for her transgender memoir, "She's Not There."
Boylan is a novelist, memoirist, screenwriter and teacher. She is a professor of English at Colby College. Currently, she is working on a new nonfiction work about growing up in a haunted house, which she hopes to release in 2007.

Since the memoir was published, it became a chance for Boylan to inform people on a condition that she says affects some 40,000 people in the United States. "The problem is that most people don't know about it," Boylan says. "And one reason is that people who make the transition frequently vanish off the radar and go about the business of living normal lives."
Before the reading, Boylan also will hold an informal discussion at 12:45 p.m. in APSU Dunn Center, Room 215. Photos and information about Boylan are available for viewing at

I also enjoyed her book very much and I wish I could go. No more approved vacation time for me before or after Portland 🙁 unfortunately!

I can't believe this! I used to live an hour from there! Her book "She's not There" was beyond helpful to me.
