Hey guys, if you are undergoing/planning medical transition, have you had or plan to have any form of genital surgery? This may include meta, phallo, or simply a release.

Elaboration encouraged: what surgery have you had/plan to have and why? or what are your reasons for not having genital surgery?

They say most of us don't get our genitals worked on, so just an informal poll.
Thanks.

Mister

I've had what i call a 'sorta-centurion' with implants and a vaginectomy.

I ticked undecided because, while I have no plans to have it at this point, I might change my mind sometime later on.

I used to feel strongly that if it ain't broke, don't fix it.  There are decent prosthetics out there and I  was concerned about loss of feeling/function (orgasm) by getting my bits worked on.

Now I am considering a simple meta with implants, no urethral hookup or vaginectomy.  Undecided, but thinking.

Mister, who did your surgery, and are you happy?  You can PM me if you don't want to post publicly.

Hey Jay. Forgive my ignorance, but how does that work without having the vaginal cavity sewn up? Would the balls hang in front or how?

You pee from behind your balls.

Basically your labia majora become the scrotum and I don't think they fuse them in this procedure.  Your penis is released up top, the labia minora are used to form the bottom of the phallus, and the majora get implants.  So you pee from your current urethra and maintain a vagina.  I imagine basically having larger thicker labia down there.  I do wonder if I'd end up peeing on my balls or not.

I'm not opposed to using my bonus hole for sex, even though I'm currently not interested in dating men or being penetrated, but am considering keeping my options open at this time.

I may do nothing down there; still very much on the fence about a  urethral hookup.  One dude on x-tube has a fantastic result -- if that were guaranteed I'd do it in a heartbeat!!  It looks far better than any surgery I saw on transster or any of the surgeon's sites.  I think his notes said Brassard did it.

what are your reasons for not having genital surgery?

I dont need bottom surgery 2 be a dude.  king kong's big enough & works hella cool  8) 8) 8) I dont wanna take any chances w/ a meta or phallo.  ppl see me as a dude. My family accepts me as a dude. I'm legally a dude & my gf loves me as a dude. Thats all I need 2 be happy. Those r my reasons.

Didn't see the why/why not questions...

See, the why not is what I'm working with right now.
I'm afraid of sacrificing functionality and sexual "enjoyment" for appearance.
Yes I would like my junk to look "right" but not at the cost of it not being usable for what it's intended.
The "fuss" that it takes to have an orgasm after phalloplasty, that I have read about, just makes me go.. "yeeeeaaaaa... no!"
It's not just the selfish either.. the "I want to be able to obtain my personal sexual pleasure from rolling 'round in the hey with my hubby" but also the dent to him and his sexual enjoyment if I alter my junk to such a degree that he can't really bring me to orgasm without going about it in a very specific manner.. it kills the variety of it all sort of a thing..

I've very recently decided I do want phalloplasty. I've no idea where I'd get the money, but I still want it and would get it if I could. The lack of junk didn't bother me all that much before, but it's really really starting to get to me since I made a packer and an STP, I want the real deal

Maybe if the technology was vastly improved. At the moment, for dealing out several tens of thousands, it's really not worth it at all. Not to mention possible complications added on. For around 50k, I want something that can pass for real, and I've not seen anything that is passable.

You're in the UK, aren't you Jeatyn? In which case, phallo should be covered on the NHS for you mate :)

In answer to the original questions, I haven't had any lower surgery yet; however, I am planning to have phalloplasty. When I started transition, I didn't think I would want (or more to the point NEED) lower surgery, but the further along I got, the more I realised how much I need to have phallo in order to align my body with my mind as much as possible.

I'm fortunate in that I live in the UK, so my surgery will be covered by the NHS. I'm hoping to be able to go to Belgium, to Prof Monstrey, for my surgery, and in fact I have a consultation over there next Friday ;D

What's the waiting list like? I would imagine the NHS wouldn't make it a priority procedure.

I have always wanted a penis, born without felt wrong. These parts I have aren't sexual don't work. So it I get my penis and it doesn't work not harm done. That's how I see it anyhow. I don't need a penis to be a man. But it would boost my self esteem and maybe then I would be able to have the big O ;)

Definitely want it.. just don't want the pain ha ha!

Sorry I want a Phallo, abdominal flap procedure however like Flameboy probably will have it in Belgium where they have great arm graft ones.

Shorter than however long it'd take me to save up the cash to go privately! ;)

Seriously though, I'm not sure how long the waiting list is for the London team, as I'm planning to go to Belgium. I booked my consultation appointment about 6 months ago, and then, following the appointment I've been told it's about an 18 month waiting list. During that time, however, I'll have to apply for the funding (I'm paying for the consultations myself) - and I'm sure the time will fly by.

I think that once you have the referrals, the wait for the London team is much shorter than that. I'm choosing to go to Belgium because I personally think the results are better for me, and there are less stages to go through - which means less time off work and less healing time. It's a very personal choice though, and what's right for one person isn't necessarily right for another.

No, I'll not be getting bottom surgery. Maybe my mind will change? I don't know.

When I was younger I did, but then I found out the options and felt a bit disappointed. I thought we would have been further along in this time period. Surprisingly the desire to actually have one has diminished quite a deal.

I have not/do not plan to have any sort of genital surgery. The boobs are gone, and that's all I wanted.

I feel I'm one of the few transguys who are actually completely fine with my genitalia. Dare I say, I'm happier with a female bottom than I probably would have been if I had been born biomale! Sure the monthly trash dump was an annoyance, but testosterone cleared that all up. I like what I have now, and there's no plans to change it.
