A "staff network for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender staff" has been set up to establish how this sensitive data should be collected.

The council already records the ethnicity and any disability of its staff but does not ask about their sexual orientation and wants to talk to staff about the best way to gain this information without invading staff privacy.
