An Ohio man was arrested Monday evening after allegedly harassing people along the Little Miami River while wearing a women's bathing suit.

The report, which was picked up by CNN Headline News, seemed to suggest that the man was menacing because he called attention to the fact he was wearing a women's bathing suit.

So, if a man wears a woman's bathing suit he becomes menacing?  ::)

It's Ohio, what is to be expected.  Bible belt were anything out of the ordinary is strange and menacing.

If a woman was caught wearing a man's bathing suit would she be charged with "menacing"?

BTW: A little over a hundred years ago full torso bathing suits for men was considered "normal".  And if he were caught back then he might have been charged with "exposure".

Slow news day in a small town with too many reporters and not enough to report.

The ACLU should come to his defense in full force.  He was detained while being on his property AND there was no indecent exposure.

I have the feeling theres alot more to this story. Just what was this guy saying and doing?

A sizable number of people look down upon the GLBT community. Then again there seems to be a large number of people within the GLBT who think that our brothers and sisters can do no worng.

Too bad Paul Harvey is no longer with us, I'm sure "the rest of the story" is quite interesting in this case.

It wasn't even a little bikini, it was a backless one piece.
A Speedo covers FAR less.

While I hate to play devil's advocate, the guy wasn't exactly just wearing the suit.  I found several articles linked off of cnn.com and actually saw this story yesterday on HLN during my break at work.  He's accused of harassing/chasing several women and teenage girls over a week's time (police received about a dozen complaints), and allegedly also exposed himself.

The man wearing the suit isn't menacing in itself.  It's what he was doing while wearing it.

They made a big deal of it on the news here (Southern California) ran the ad for it several times and showed it on at least two different news times.

I wonder how the headlines would read if it was a woman wearing a man's bathing suit.  :o

No doubt because they were amazed anyone could get busted for wearing a bathing suit no matter what kind.  California news is very fond of running items that fall under the heading - "no matter how messed up we are here, aren't you glad you're not in Ohio?"

that's so stupid. of course they have to mention additionally that he was wearing a woman's bathing suit. they don't need to mention he was wearing one if they supposedly arrested him for another reason. if it was a woman wearing swimming trunks and a tshirt, i doubt they would add that in.
