The officers also allegedly fabricated evidence to wrongly suggest another former detective, Gerry McHugh, was also involved in the murder of transsexual prostitute Adele Bailey.

Chief Commissioner Simon Overland has since issued a public apology to Mr McHugh and cleared him of any involvement in the murder.
