is an endocronologist allowed to lie to you about your sex hormone levels?

i got blood drawn in january or february, sometime in that area. i was getting tested for different hormones like cholesterol, thyroid, estrogen, and testosterone. i think the endocronologists i was seeing could have lied to me about my hormones being "well within the normal range." these endocronologists told me that they did not feel my therapists letter was strong enough, because she included that i have aspergers disorder, which they claimed could be "one disorder over the other." they told me and my parents to our faces that they would have a conference call with my therapist, but they never did. as a matter of fact, my therapist has called them several times, but they wouldn't return her messages. i get the feeling they could have lied to me about my hormone levels. my testosterone was far from normal range when i was 11-12. i had blood drawings done during both those ages, and it was 40. i was even sent to an endocronologist for that, because they claimed it was abnormally low for that age. the endocronologist i was sent to was even going to give me shots of testosterone. why in the heck would any licensed endocrinologist give me shots of testosterone if supposedly a couple years later my testosterone became well within the normal range? of course, he did claim that this would cure my gender identity disorder, so if he has that kind of judgement, then maybe it was just another dumb idea on his part to poison me with testosterone. i refused the shots by the way, so my testosterone level would not have been affected by that. my point is, why the heck would any kind of endocronologist decide to give me testosterone shots if allegedly my testosterone is currently and naturally well within the normal range, and if the different endocronologists i saw between january and february would lie to my face about having a conference call with my therapist, who knows what other lie they could have told? they didn't even say the amount i had for each hormone. they just came into the room and said that everything was normal range without having any print outs.

they take an oath to "do no harm" and in my opinion a lie would be doing harm (especially if it led to what they are proposing). they may (wrongfully) choose not to follow their obligations to their oath, and they may have personal beliefs that interfere in treating some procedures (for example, (at least in the US) you can't force a doctor to perform an abortion), but that is no excuse for manipulation of facts of flat out lies.

I agree that something seems odd here, and I would recommend that you seek a second opinion. the 'flood the "boy" full of testosterone' approach was (is) a common "cure".

"well within the normal range" is quite a huge range though.

It's entirely possible that your testosterone levels jumped up to the typical male range after age 12 when you entered puberty. Male puberty sucks that way.

At any rate, you have a legal right to see your medical records. You can request a copy of your blood test and the endo will have to provide it.

My first endoc was horrible and did not even do a baseline so I have no idea what my levels were like before HRT. What did I eventually do? Found a new endoc and request copies of the results.

Yea, I've also seen a few bone head Endo's in my time too. A good Endocrinologist will proivide you with a print out of all your test results and should have good knowledge of what he or she is doing to improve your fat re - distribution and the best HRT for your genetic make up in order to get the best results.

Agreed. My current endoc is highly regarded in the local T community and is also very top notch with a few genetic issues I have.

Hard to answer if i dont  know the dosages, that is i am assuming you are on hormones.  Last time i had a pannel, my test level was 70 and that is considered very low, so  someone saying it is like 10 or 11  is almost nil.   I mean, im not saying it is impossible, but  hey...im not a dr  either.  Ive always been on the low end when it came to test levels, even b4 starting hormones, but 11 is a bit drastic.   Did they tell you what your  estrogen levels  were??  You can  always get your full file from them  and have another endo look at it.   They have to give you it.  Just sign a release for your full medical records.  You dont have to give a reason  either,  its your file.  There are some shady drs tho, as i  have  had first hand issues with a few.
