So, I just had a littler, er ... clipper accident.   :eusa_shifty: If you want to hear the whole story and see the results, you can check out my uTube vlog. (JamisonTman is my user name.)  But the long and the short of it - no pun intended - is that I ended up with a full-on G.I. Jane 1/4" all over butch cut.  :icon_yikes: Any suggestions for how I might make it a little less horrendous?  I was thinking dying it a darker colour might help make me look less bald, but it might just make the skin show through even worse.  I thought of taking the back and sides down to 1/8", just to reduce the tennis-ball look.  Opinions?  Other ideas?  Any magic hair-growth tonics out there that anyone knows about?  :icon_nervious:

Time is a magical hair growth tonic. You're stuck, wear a hat.

Alas, I fear you are right.  Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to wear a hat at work.   :(

Just checked out your video.

I think it looks good on you, personally.

Thanks, Monty.  I appreciate your kindness.  I considered just clipping it into a Mohawk - I've always kind of wanted one - but I just put in for a promotion at work, and I didn't think it would give me the professional, responsible, image I wanted to project.  ;D

It'll grow pretty fast.  And, it's the weekend!

And dude: GI Jane?! Butch?!  You're a GUY!!

hey, looks like you've got a nicely shaped head... actually doesn't look that bad man.

oh, and this is exactly the reason why i don't do my own hair.  i was trimming my side burns which took me two months to grow and ended up having to take them all the way down :(

Looks fine from the front.  It's not screaming 'butch' or 'GI Jane' in the least.  I haven't seen the sides or back so I can't comment completely, but from what I've seen you're fine without the hat.

Aw man! Don't feel bad- this happens all the time. My uncle and brother-in-law did the same thing. Except they messed up so badly they just shaved their heads.

My father has a set of those clippers and... it's unwise for him. There have been times when I went over and he looked like Sonic the Hedgehog, a deranged man or someone who had a fight with a lawn mower. :icon_chuckel: He is now no longer allowed to cut his own hair.

Anyway, I think it doesn't look bad on you at all. You look like a guy I know.

If only I passed as one.  ::)  :P  Point taken, though.  However, in my defense, the all-over-one-length hairstyle is actually called a "butch" (as opposed to a "fade" or a "crew", etc.), which is what I meant.

Thanks guys for the kind words.  I'm thinking of dying it auburn, just to make it look as if I meant to do it.  ;D (Keep in mind, I'm not out at work yet.  Waiting to see if I get that promotion first.)

And Radar, that's just too funny about your dad.  :D  I was really surprised that after years of professional, conservative haircuts that the first thing my dad did upon retirement was to grow his hair out past his collar.  Not that I blame him, and it looks really good on him, but I just didn't think he was really a long-hair kind of guy.

Or there is always the shaved head look.  Sorry boys.  ~Sister now leaves the room and closes the door ~

Here's the best part- my paternal grandfather was a professional barber.
