Chaz Bono made his first public appearance since announcing his gender transition from female to male.

The Huffington Post reports that Chaz Bono and his girlfriend, Jennifer Elia, attended the opening night festivities at the Outfest 2009 film festival in Los Angeles last week.

As probably the most prominent public figure to go through a gender transition in recent memory, Bono will be scrutinized by the press wherever and whenever he appears.
