Legalizing Deception: Why “Gender Identity” Should Not be Added to Anti-dis laws

Certain national and international groups are pushing for the addition of "gender identity" and "gender expression" to anti-discrimination laws. According to activists, gender identity is defined as: "An individual's self–perception or inner sense of being a man, a male, a woman, a female, both, neither, butch, femme, two-spirit, bigender, or another configuration of gender. Gender identity often matches the gender typically associated with the person's anatomy but sometimes does not" and gender expression refers to: "Any combination of how someone outwardly presents external characteristics behaviors that are socially defined as masculine or feminine, including dress, mannerisms speech patterns and social interactions."

Such legislation is designed to give legal protections to those who reject the sex they were born with and want to be publicly accepted as the other sex -– the so-called 'transsexuals,' 'transgendered,' 'gender queer,' ->-bleeped-<-s, and others. Such persons deceive themselves, deceive others, and are being deceived by mental health professionals and surgeons. The public is being deceived by the media and activists into believing that so-called 'transsexuals' were born with biological problems that are remedied by surgery and that it is possible to change your sex.

When you judge others, you do not define them, you define yourself.

One way is to stop using their language.

I didn't know we speak differently. I speak with a dialect, is that what they mean??

The author is actually Female. How sad. I seem to get more frustrated with women who are so vehemently against us. I guess it's my desire to believe that women are both more empathetic and feeling, as well as understanding that being female is pretty great. Oh, well. I guess some of these gender guardians want to think that estrogen is in such precious, limited quantities that it should be well protected.....

No comment.  Just another zealot who does not understand my life.

The comment section is actually kind of interesting, though the original article is pure drivel.

The basic problem is a failure to teach science. From one of the comments:

I agree that we can't call black white or white black. But I think that a problem here is that you are trying to see in black and white that which is of various shades of gray.

Indeed. And every claim of science throughout its history has been (or ought to have been) some shade of gray. That's the problem with appeals to science in defense of a moral position.
All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another.

Who are we deceiving? We just being who we really are. I don't need any so-called expert to tell me who I am.

The experts have been wrong about many things. I don't put much credence in people who can talk and write about me and have never even met me.

Just another little bug begging to be crushed.

Underestimating your opponent is the first step to a major ass kicking.  People out in Cali blew off the Catholic and LDS Churches in the last election.  They lost. Whatever else you might say about it, the RCC has been around for a long time and is very, very rich, as many have found out, they are not a little bug, but a very formidable opponent.

Churches get a pass on a lot of laws, not just trans/gay ones. But ya, you go up against these groups in the political arena at your own risk, for sure on that.

Doesn't change how I view them, I view some of the most powerfully people on this world as little bugs, because they are. I may be in the wrong here when it comes to many things, but my views of them do not change. People like them are bugs, they just need to be crushed, each small victory will one day lead to people like them becoming what they should already be: NOTHING
