How are butch lesbians supposed to become who we truly are, by artificially altering who we were born to be?

In this essay:

Whose hair is this in my soup? — What changed for Butch Lesbians?
What's really going on back there in the kitchen? — Why did things change?
Who put together this menu? — What's wrong with the "Medical Model"?
Who hired this waiter? — What in the world is Psychiatry doing?
Who's writing the "good" reviews for this soup, and why? — What about those happy with the Medical Model & Psychiatry?
Is this really what we ordered? — When the "cure" is brain and body damage, how is it better than being "ill"?

Hmm. The fact that some female to male transsexuals started out identifying as 'butch' says nothing about butches as a whole, anymore than flaming male homosexuals are all transwomen. I don't see how butch identity is threatened because some transmen initially sought refuge in the dyke community. They were never 'butches' - masculine women, but men seeking acceptance wherever they could find it.
