I just think she is getting bad horrible professional advice. You never want to be a _______ singer, or a ________ act, because you never lose that (fill in the blank) and it's always going to come first, before what you do, and before your name.  That's why Elton John and Rob Halford fought it for so long.  Sir Elton would never have got beyond being gay singer Elton John.  Having made it first, people think Elton John, singer/songwriter who is also gay - and that's a huge difference.   Halford and Judas Priest would never have made it beyond being Big Leather Daddy Rob and his band Judas Priest.  But having waited till they were established, that became a huge part of the act, but never overshadowed what they were doing.

(And, for the record, Rob Halford did more for LGBT artists than anyone else I can think of.  He made it OK to be gay to a huge group of people who otherwise would have never been reached.)

I worked for years with a beautiful local singer/songwriter named Holly Near.  She should have had hits, but never did.  She could never escape being lesbian/woman recording artist Holly Near, and its a shame she never got past that and just allowed to be Holly Near.

And also for the record, I could take a voice sample of anyone here, run it though AutoTune and have you singing arias from La Bohème perfectly.  Except you wouldn't be singing, it would sort of be your voice - which is what she is doing - but its the computer singing, not you.

But if these interviews, on the TV, and in all the press are any indication Kim is always going to be stuck talking about her transition for 7 1/2 minutes of every 8 minute interview, at the end of which will be tacked on, 'oh yeah, she sings.'  Bad career move.

in fact even if you finish the transition, you are transsexual. When you die, and they will dig you out after years, the will find bones of a guy (and maybe some silicone  ). Or if you watch straight biologic to it, post op mtf are guys with an inverted penis.

The concept of Trans-sexuality describes the gender change (right-wise "change of the gender role") of a person, and begins, according to Dr. Pfäffin, from the time where a person defines himself as transsexual. And he ends if, a person is reproductive-incapable after occurred surgical intervention (according to German law)), permanently and is divorced. And, two consultants must confirm the diagnosis. If the former transsexual individual gets the documents, is he or she, at least according to German law not to call more than transsexual. It is even punishable to do this (it stands in the Transsexual Law, published 1981). In Germany we can marry even (heterosexually). If we are homosexual, only the "2 nd class marriage (domestic partners) are available.
In other countries it may look different, but in Germany it is in such a way. But it doesn't matter what authorities or doctors say, our self-image is important! If we think that we are treated as equal to a woman (with certain deductions), we will appear as completely different; when somebody who believes to be transsexual for ever.
And, by the way, it is not so imprtant which gay pride is bigger or smaler. it is important that we are a part of the GAY PRIDE. And, Hon, we all as Humans have a past! And sometimes it is more horrible than a transsexual past.

All of which is totally, 100% irrelevant in this case.  She is always going to be a transsexual.  That's how she got started, not as a singer, but as the youngest person to have a sex change.  For now, and as far as we can tell, forever, when you Google her name, what's going to come up?  These articles and interviews are always going to be there in the same way that for a whole lot of people here - about my age - see the name CHER and instinctively think 'Sonny and' in front of it.  For Cher that was not a career breaker, in fact, it was a career maker, Sonny never got the credit outside the industry that he deserved, but for Kim, she's never going to get past it. It was horrible career (and no doubt personal) advice to let her do these interviews, and to have this be made public information before she even recorded a record.  Had she had a couple of hits, a big tour, lots of TV exposure, and then, THEN, it came out - it would have made her a sensation.  As it is, its a boat anchor around her neck.

I attended a Holly Near songwriting workshop many years ago, to this day I often come back to a couple of key points she taught. Great writer and powerful singer!

Ok, Elton John and his homosexuality..  when he got successful there wasnt the Time to
say "i am gay"
But look at George Michael or some other younger Singer who are successful and Gay.
Their Management prevent that it comes to the truth. They dont want have fringe
group Star.
With Kim is the absolute oposite way. She came well known from the TV Show "Stern TV"
and they are not interested in 'just another child that wants to be a popstar'. They want
a sensation, so the 'youngest Post-OP TS' (what she isnt) was born.

I await the Day where she is fighting against the Doctors, because they made an non adult
unable to produce kids.    Or she fights against her parents they permit the surgery

i wish her the best, but whether or not she actually ever becomes a "real" pop star is not that important to me. she has already accomplished more of my deepest desires then i will ever be able.    i wish that i had that kind of person to look up to in my early teens. most of my life i never even thought that it was possible to do what she has done and up until the last four years i thought that id end up looking like benny hill.

Wishing people the best in show biz is a double edged sword.  Fame has a huge downside that kills a lot of people.

All I can say is she is very very lucky to have understanding parents so she could start her treatment early and avoid costly surgery and lots of emotional pain. Good on her! Go Kim!!

I'm not a fan but I'm happy for her ,she is a cute singer.....But Dana International is a whole new level, I went to see her when she came to  NYC....OMG she had parents, kids, different nationalities,all genders there to see her (I'm latin I speak nothing of hebrew and yes I have every CD she has ever made in any language) but trust me her hebrew music transcends race ,nationalities, or genders, she is a superstar in her own right(by far I would dare say she is the most famous transexual in the world, remember 2008 eurovision)......I hope Kim mattures in her carrier to the level of success that  Dana has, or who knows even bigger....I'm happy for the both of them!

On a TV Show in Germany (Stern-TV) I saw that Kim had her sex change made in 2008 or 2009 and she looks quite happy. She maybe had a boyfriend as far as I saw in that show. I made a copy on DVD from that show (14 minutes her part). Unfortunately in German.

BTW , after you finished your transsition, you're not trans anymore in a judical way and also in a physical way. Remeber, Biology is NOT destiny!
