I like me!

Whenever I look in the mirror, there's me. I like me.

Ok, I could engage in emotional suicide and say, "Well my X is not Y and I don't like my Z". I don't
I could say that I'm the greatest in the world too. I don't.

It's just that I like me and I want to spend the rest of my life with me.
(This doesn't preclude getting a GF or a BF either.)

Thanks, Nero! I like you too!

This topic wasn't really about what a great person I am (blush), but more about self-liking.

Do you truly like yourself?

Renate,
I spent so many years hating myself that I'm not sure I can like me. I am very glad you and others have found that.

You've got to like you. There's nothing else.

I like you too Renate, and thank you so much again for that card.  LoL I still laugh when I think about it, The gin bottle IV.  :D

I gotta say I like me much better now as Chloe than I was even capable of as my old male self. That "guy" was very harsh and judgmental and constantly critical of everything I thought and did. He had issues and probably couldn't help it but still not so great for the self-esteem. Now I'm much more forgiving with myself and actually enjoy my own company more.

And people who like themselves are so much more fun to be around  ;) I like you too sweetie :icon_flower:

Not really but a lot more than I did last year at this time.

I can sense the person in here that I will like now at least.

I am a narcississt.
I need a larger mirror, which I could not find here easily.
Sometimes I am enthralled by myself in the mirror.
But I am getting old and my face becomes more masculine,
and I can see it in the mirror.

I love me, and most people around me also like me.

Barbie~~
Just do it.

It tends to be a lot easier to like people who like themselves, and - in the long run - all but impossible to like people who don't like themselves.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

I like you Renate (and many of the wonderful people I've interacted with here).

Looking to myself, there are things I'm content with and things I'm unhappy with (not just the physical). I've done things I'm happy about and plenty I'd rather forget.

And I agree that it's hard to truly like people who don't like themselves - not that it means I would dislike them, simply that it's hard work to actually warm to them.

Renate,

I come at things from a position of love. You love people and dislike or hate things
and attitudes. I may not like the things you* say or do but I love you. The same goes
for myself. I've done some pretty boneheaded things in my past and I hate that I
did them but I love me. If I can change the things I do, so can others.
That is why I come at things from a position of love.

That being said, I like you, too.

I've always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you.

So let's make the most of this beautiful day,

Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?" - Fred Rogers

I have the hugest ego, but it's okay because I'm justified.  I'm intelligent and fairly independent.  I also spend a lot of time admiring myself in the mirror.  I love my hair, and my eyes, and my lips, and . . . almost everything above the neck.  I hope hormones don't change that.  I could go on more about my many virtues, but I figure they shine through in every interaction here anyway, so what's the point.
