Hi all,

I expect this has been discussed before so I apologise if it has. My question is one of curiosity really. I have had breast bud growth and breasts and nipples being tender continuously now for over 9 months. My question is this, is it normal to have continual bud pain, growth and tender nipples for so long. I had heard that it goes away after a few months. I have been to the docs a few months ago because I was concerned it was the big C but it was confirmed that it was breast buds as it was both sides and large tender lumps under the nipple.

Anyway as I said just curious

I heard it can be painful for 6 months to as long as 2 years once the pain starts.

It can come and go as long as the internal structure of your breasts is growing.

I have found the same to be true for myself.

Stardust, I had this happen to me too when my "girls" first started growing, then the pain stopped.  But a few weeks ago I started having painful tenderness in my left breast, and it felt like a lump, and the breast grew a little too.  Had it checked out with my doctor (thought it might be a cyst or tumor), did an ultrasound, and turns out it's just a mass of benign tissue, just gotta keep an eye on it.

I had the same thing for 9 months.  But now at 15 months nothing.  And I have not changed in anyway.  Is this normal?  It should be showing something.

Growth can come and go too.

People around here seems to be more and more convinced that progesterone can help with formation of fully mature and potentional sized breasts even as adults.

Someone I know who is going to the same doctor as I am is on progesterone and not even on anti-androgens, apparently when in enough dose it blocks andorgen by itself.
She started at around age 40 and developed size C breasts, about the size of the rest of her family.

And this is just one example.

If you are unhappy with both fat redistubtuion and breasts growth, or even just one, I'd recommend you to really ask your doctor about progesterones, to put them at normal female levels and look into regimes that don't require androcur/spironolactone or other anti-androgens but just progesterones and estrogen.

I am not going to state any doses due to policy here, but just wanted to point it is possible and it seems to give better and faster results.

Mine hurt when they are growing. Well, tender anyway. Mine have been hurting and growing for, um, 7 months constantly. I'm three years into HRT. I've had periods where they didn't grow as much (or maybe not at all) and they didn't hurt. So, you can get times where they are growing, even for 9 months, and then times when they aren't. Even if they don't hurt, or are tender, they can still be growing or filling out.

My breasts are tender to the touch but I haven't had any sharp pains.   I do find it difficult to sleep on my chest but it is discomfort not pain.  I have taken hormones for short periods before but only in the last four months have I used them religiously.     I am developing slowly and so far I am happy with the results.  I still need to lose a few pounds but my body is slowly meeting my mind.

Breast tenderness means growth, long may it continue ;D
