QuoteBut now that physical prowess is no longer a leadership determinant . . . and with the increasing importance of education in the global economy, it is quite possible that women will begin out-earning their less educated brothers within a generation.
I agree with what riven_one is implying and as far as education, work and earning power is concerned I say knock yerself out, don't look to me for any help, sympathy and especially marriage. . .
QuoteSometimes it is a bit much, and I get just tired of carrying the load.
There will always be a Korea, a Vietnam, a Iraq for sure the male slaughter in the movies of which still always brings tears to my eyes, if one is going to talk about the benefits of being female in what was once the greatest economy of the world lets talk the real costs of freedom in an allegedly "civil", equitable society and the responsibilities that that often entails.

The He-man's Women Hater Club & "Men Are Chumps"

Quote from: Inanna on August 16, 2009, 03:51:11 AMI've come to firmly believe that guys are innately more emotional, caring, and lighthearted than they end up being as adults.  What causes this change? The continuous drilling into their heads (including mine) to purge one's self of emotional expressiveness, frivolities, showing pain, unnecessary closeness to others unless you get sex.
Not all males are raised that way Inanna, mine is 9 and I try to show him everyday how much I love him by simply spending time with him doing things he wants, it's ok to cry, express himself freely if feeling emotionally hurt or stressed and he's very sensitive especially to girls he likes yet I'm convinved he's otherwise ALL MALE and I never try to *drum* anything into him (obviously since he is nominally aware of my MtF GID as well)

Mother's often do prefer males and the reverse corollary should also always be true, father's should nurture & protect while empowering their little angels! Bottom line, the real father role model is severely lacking by it's gradual disappearance in this divided work / home culture, if the big "B"s didn't use and keep our children so unfairly from us in divorce and worked more instead everyone would be happier!
"But it's no use now," thought poor Alice, "to pretend be two people!
"Why, there's hardly enough of me left to make one respectable person!"

A father's main duty to his daughters is to keep the girl off the pole.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

That's very sexist and male one-sided (not to mention the flat fact that neither parent these days are very successful @ it!)

I work next to one of the major strip clubs in SF, (which has no shortage of strip clubs) and I'll stand by the statement that a father who has a stripper for a daughter is pretty much a failure.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

I'd like to state that I disagree with Tekla on this.
I think every woman should have dominion over her own body, this includes her choice to strip.
I don't think it's a demeaning job for women.
I do however believe, due to the fact that I know some strippers, that they are some of the most vicious people on the planet and that the only person in the strip club that's taken the slightest bit advantage of, is the customer.
In my book, strippers are strong women, who utilize their assets to preform a job they enjoy.
And any father who has a "happy and strong" daughter can be proud.
If not, he's just a prude.

lol  ;D Like I said, often "Men Are Chumps" (twitterpated and proud of it?) so who is anyone to point fingers or pass blame for "Alphalfa" just as quickly abandoning the "ranks" for Darla?

Boys carry kooties. Sorry Nero but that's a scientific fact!

LordKAT

Sorry Wendy but I must disagree. We only find them when the girls make us nervous or something.

I never understood the shaving your body thing.

My body hair screams "MAN!!!" in the loudest possible voice.

the only time I actually feel CLEAN is when I'm shaved.

I concede that there's a lot of hairy places the public would never see but I know it's there and that's enough.

No love, it is not.  :(

I live in a house dominated by females. They are much better behave than males and more mature.

As for me... Damn, thing only has done four good things for me... my four children. Now, it often just get in the way...   :D

Um,

What?

Pissing off the roof is fun! I did that at like 12 or 13, it was great fun getting a tree I'd planted wet lol. I can't believe how good a roof-pisser-offer I was. I discovered the joys of getting drunk later lol.

Yes, on T my pee is more rank, but it's PEE, it's not supposed to be rose water.

It is certainly easier being a boy.

I spent hours trying to get ready as Alice last weekend. Shaving my body, choossing clothes, makeup, wig etc. In the end it was to much hassle, spent 10 mins washing off my making, 5 min change into good old boy clothes and I was much happier.

Gee - being a girl is to much hard work.

Call me Al.

It IS harder to get dolled up as a woman! By skipping the leg- and armpit-shaving I have reduced my shower time to 10 mins tops, not to mention completely avoiding razor burn. I only need 5 minutes to brush my hair and trim my fingernails and then I'm good to go. Before I realized and acknowledged I was trans, I'd spend an hour taming my midback-length hair and putting on makeup. *shudder*

In some respects it's better to be a boy.. In other respects it's better to be a girl. Everyone has their preference.

Showers are SO quick for me these days! My hair's a crew cut, so that's no care other than a good scrub with shampoo. I do my shaving in front of the mirror with the good old Barbasol. I do go over armpits and .... other areas... with a clipper once in a while, so that's taken care of elsewhere. No fussing over nails, I just file them with the file on one of my Leatherman tools if truth be known.

But then if you like being a girl all the primping stuff is its own reward I think! And I have male friends who take forever to get ready to go out.
