I read the book a few years ago, so I was excited when I heard it was going to be made into a movie.
They skipped some of the more "complicated" elements of the book, but overall I enjoyed the movie. I can't say that I liked the book more than the move or vice versa, because it seems to be an unfair comparison. Books usually are able to cover more details and go deeper into the characters than movies can, and "The Time Traveller's Wife" was less than 2 hours long.
I wasn't disappointed by the way the movie summarized the book. In fact, it's a movie I'd like to see again (I've started rereading the book, too).
On a coincidental note, before the movie my wife and I had dinner at a place called the "Bow Thai Cafe" here in San Mateo. The first restaurant that Henry and Clare have dinner at in the story is called "Beau Thai." I'd forgotten all about that part. It was kind of cool.
