Is this normal???

Lets start this off.... Im usualy broke and just barely scrapeing by.... but in 3 months Ive knocked out half my debt.........

Every time I skip a shot... and go for more than a week I get cramps.... and ofcorse become irriatable, and all that other fun stuff and it drives me up the wall.....  Seriously.... it seems to get worse everytime this happens.  I am reporting this to my doctor on my next visit but just from experiance is this normal?

You are injecting a drug into your body, which your body is now expecting and recognizing. The Estrogen in your body is in the blood stream which is going to the vital organs and also starting to change your body.

I got severe cramps and really bad leg cramp especially when on high doses of HRT and when I came of Hormones before SRS, My body suffered badly from the shock.

I would talk to your Doc about this, but It seems fairly normal, although skipping shots is probably not a good idea and if you take them regular pressumably you don't have the symptoms you are getting now?

These cramps are diffrent from the actual withdrawl pains.....  those are everywhere....

There actual "cramps" like lower abdomin grab your insides and tie twist them up tie them in knots you just want to curl up into a little ball and die cramps........
They do happen even if I keep up the regimin but to a FAR lesser degree....  they freak me out but never worried me before, but theyve never been this bad before..........

You need to go see your doctor ASAP.  Unusual and chronic pain is a sign that something is wrong.

I agree with LIT.  For me, I do not experience those pains, so it is not normal.

  I have the same problem Lynn....

  In my case it was two seperate conditions except one was influenced by the other.  First of all I have IBS or irritable bowel syndrome which causes the cramps just like you are describing.  When it gets bad I think I would rather shoot myself than deal with it sometimes.

  The connection with the HRT is that your shots balance your hormone level.  When you miss a dose suddenly your hormone levels shift radically which causes an emotional stress that is a trigger for the IBS.  Hence the symptoms i.e. cramping, become much worse.

  One thing I have noticed over the last month is that since I started taking an anti-anxiety medication for an unrelated condition my IBS has been virtually non existant.  I thought it was coincidence until I went back and read the pharmacology print out that came with the medication again and sure enough one of the things that it's prescribed for is chronic IBS.

  I don't know if your situation is the same but what you describe mimics my issues perfectly.  You may consider seeing a gastroenterologist in addition to your primary care physician.

When I first started getting odd cramps I thought nothing of it.  Then one night they woke me up.  Finally one day I had to rush someone to the hospital because she was having the same issue but magnified by a lot.  It was her gall bladder and the whole thing was so bad that they removed it.

I went and got my checked out and I have gall stones.  As per the doctor I am hormonally female now (and have been for some time) so I have a higher risk for this.  He said that he would not perform surgery unless the pain was all of the time and a bit more severe.  If I avoid certain foods I am ok but the time for surgery is coming up.

I am happy to read that you go on Tuesday.  Please let us know what you find out.
