EXCLUSIVE: Ski girl who was really a man backs sex-row runner Caster

A world champion athlete later exposed as a hermaphrodite last night warned sex-row runner Caster Semenya: "What you face now will be harder than any race."

Downhill skier Erika Schinegger was tipped to win three gold medals at the 1968 Olympics until doctors discovered she had been born a man.

She has since changed her name to Erik and is now a happily married grandad.
