If evolution had not created the sexual binary, why then someone would have invented it so we could have our patriarchal religions, our naughty burlesque shows, the effect of bright red lipstick on male tumescence, the perpetuation of the species, and those great looking Victorian dresses which look much better than they were.

The sexual binary, where the men are men and the women are women and Captain Kirk demonstrates the difference in each and every Star Trek episode, is not a subject well suited to academic theorists who believe that gender is a societal construct and sex ... well sex, they'd just rather not talk about. The rest of the world, of course, just laughs at the academic gender theorists and their oh so deadly seriousness.
