Does anyone else live in an apartment where the walls & floors r so thin that u know/hear whatever everyone one is doing & visa-verse? i really couldn't care less about what or anything my neighbors r doing, but i have to to crank my tv & as much other white noise as possible to isolate myself from them. if i run water it pisses them off, i have to run water to use the bathroom to be able to go in private.i'm saying that i can't do the smallest thing w/o my neighbors knowing. everyone is so damn nosey! & people make fun of trailers? hey, i'll take one!

I don't have that problem, but then again I live in an RV.  But my neighbors are fairly close, but they don't care.  And they can even be helpful in times of need.

When we got hit with a wind storm at the first of Summer, the guy and his wife across the street ran over to help me fold up what was left of my awning.

I live in an apt. building with thin walls and such. You don't know everything that's going on, but there are plenty of loud obnoxious folks to annoy the hell out of everyone. Getting much sleep is def. an issue. Plus I catch people looking in my window from time to time.

This is Iceland. The walls are solid blocks of steel reinforced cement, even the ones on the inside.
I only hear  water running when the people upstairs are in the washroom or kitchen, but that's to be expected.

Me too! I have to admit I was skeptical about it starting out, but you can't beat the price when your'e saving money, and it's kinda hard to lose things. Winter should be interesting, but I don't think it's anything a big bottle of propane won't be able to handle. The privacy rules too, if the neighbors get too annoying you can just go somewhere else.

I have that problem right now, I live in a student house and the walls are paper thin, I hear anything and everything that's going on.
And they, of course, can hear me. I usually watch stuff on my laptop with earphones in, otherwise they come in like "Ooo, what are you watching?" and it's irritating.
It also deprives me of a certain amount of autonomy and control over my own life, I can't usually go to sleep before 1am, because they're up and talk in the loudest voices ever, and I can't sleep in after 9am because they're up, and, well, they talk in the loudest voices ever. Bear in mind it takes me at least half an hour to get to sleep, no matter how tired I am, and I generally require at least 9 hours sleep a day... and the maths just doesn't add up.

Oh the joys of cheap living... ¬¬
