Police believe they've pulled the wig off a Hamilton  bandit who spent half his robbery career disguised as a woman.

Detectives who searched a Hamilton home late Tuesday after the man had been identified as a suspect in a robbery at the Bank of Montreal on Barton Street East Monday seized a number of items connected to a string of robberies in June, July and August including a pellet gun, a woman's blouse and a wig.

Police allege the suspect, who was arrested on Upper James Street near the Linc Tuesday at 2 p.m., was connected to seven robberies, four of which were done by a man dressed as a woman.
