Lesbian Congresswoman's Crashing Symbols

Pro-family Americans need to be at least as concerned about the symbolism as the substance of the "Employment Non-Discrimination Act" (H.R. 3017), which would extend civil rights protections to homosexuals, bisexuals, transsexuals, and cross-dressers. That much was clear after today's hearing on the bill in the House Education and Labor Committee, which was attended by FRC's Peter Sprigg. Advocates of the bill pooh-poohed the idea that it would lead to a flood of litigation, but acknowledged that it would have tremendous symbolic significance.
