Hi Andrew, welcome to susans.

So first shot of testosterone eh! Feeling aggressive yet?  Just kidding, there's more to testosterone then aggressiveness. Hope all goes well for you. I'll bet you can't wait to start shaving. When you do I highly recommend an electric shaver. Much less hassle than a blade.
Not quite as close, but good enough for a man.

Welcome, Andrew and congratulations. I'm 6 months into T now. Still no facial hair other than a wispy moustache that most of my female friends can beat. I can sing bass though :)

Thank you for the shaving advice, Cassie. I was a little concerned about allowing myself to handle sharp objects near my face first thing in the morning. Heck, I can screw up coffee two out of five mornings of the week. Does anyone have a recommendation of a particular electric shaver? Maybe I'll buy myself one after my chest surgery and deal with the wisps.

I have always used a Remmington triple head. I use a Quatro razor in the morning, but then my shaving requirements are a bit more intense. I have to get really, really, really close. I still use my trusty Remington for late afternoon touch ups. Nothing worse than being full time and having little beard hairs start popping up through your foundation. Although my facial hair is very light in color and probably can't be seen unless you get real close, I know it's there. I can feel it.

Don't know about the new ones that have a shaving gel, my guess is keeping the thing in shaving gel will probably cost more than the shaver. A bottle of Lectric Shave works just fine.
When you first start shaving there is going to be a lot of irritation. There are special lotions that are supposed to help with that, and always use some kind of astringent to protect from possible staff infection. All shaving methods are notorious for bacterial collection. Keeping the rotary blades clean is an imperative. Keeps the bacteria down and keeps the blades sharp longer.

Don't worry the irritaion will lessen to some degree but rule of thumb the closer you shave the more you get infection. As far as Noxema goes that stuff never worked so great for me,
others may have had better results. Theses days I just use soap and water followed by a good moisturizer.

Well I've rambled on about shaving long enough. Iv'e probably wandered into the wrong forum zone. Best of luck to you. Andrew, congratulations again on starting your T therapy.
