Hi all I have recently been thinking a lot about BA as part of my transition and I was wondering what other peoples experiences have been with having this procedure as part of their transition?

Regards Jessica

Well I would first say be careful - because until you know what the hormones will do you won't reallly know whether you need it or not. I didn't as it happens.

It can take realistically about 3 years before you get any indication of how much development you are going to get and for those of us who transitioned at an early age it can be up to 10 years before the darned things stop growing! I'm now an F/G cup - and that was without any augmentation at all.

Now I'm NOT saying you will get that result - but you could - and you won't know for a few years - so please don't make any rushed decisions.

Depending on your DNA and BMI there can be variation. I was a B cup when I got my Breast Augmentation done. I went to a full D cup which shifted into DD.

My size is 34DD mind you not my frame gets wider as i go higher.

Lately I also starting to regain areola pouf which is somewhat a sign of breast growth again.

The end result, I am positive I won't grow into an E.

BTW, I am almost 10 months since operation was done.

This next picture shows how big I was prior to BA

and this one shows how out of my mind i felt afterwards

and these two last pictures show the after results

I was a B pre-op, for SRS I decided to get BA too as I could just afford BA too.  Went with 400mg smooth Gel implants under the pecktorals (recommend by Dr. McGinn) for my size.  I have had some breast growth since then but still at 38C  which looks pretty good, OK It looks fantastic.  I for myself am so glad to have done it as they help hide a bigger frame.  Ok Guys don't even notice what color my eyes are :-)

If you have BA with SRS it's HIGHLY recommended to have a friend be with you for the first week or so.  The top surgery was a bit more painful then the bottom, Specially if implants are placed under the muscle, but really not too bad except when the nurses rolled me on my side to change the sheets that 2nd day...  OUCH!!!!.

Haha, um I hope you mean 400CC or 400ML and not MG as miligram's are for example nearly the same size as a tylenol 500MG pill ha!

I got my BA before im getting my SRS (Im still not SRS'd) but I can see how a BA with SRS can be a problem for mobility.

I was nearly moving without issues at 7 days in, the first 3 days were just taking it easy. I was happy 2 weeks later when I was able to drop water on my new chest! I had this stench which did smell good but was sooo soo strong.

When I showed Dr. Sliwin my new chest (hes the surgeon) so he can remove some stitches he said wow they came out good! which really did, I like my body on top without a shirt it LOOKS perfectly female the only thing that gives me away a bit is the way I have no hips kinda, im missing chunk of bone or fat in a specific area. which I will get resolved.

I plan on getting some fat cells transfered to that are which will proportion to the top of my frame. this will certainly make my body undectable after SRS + this. I will be getting some facial work at the same time as SRS.

I posted about this elsewhere recently but I would advise putting off BA for a bit. I have been on and off hormones for 12 years now. Prior to hormone use I was already at an A cup. Quickly went to a B cup and it stayed there for years. Now a year past surgery and my bras were feeling  horrible so I went in for a measurement to find I am now a C cup. I have also put some weight on which I am sure influenced the overall effect. Regardless I have gone from the wanted BA camp to will not need BA camp. I have known others on HRT for several years before they showed much progress.

YMMV and in the end it is up to whatever you think is necessary for yourself.

After 10 years on hormones I only developed an A cup. I am cautious about BA but would really like some decent size boobs. Need a C or possibly D to balance frame.

From the experiences of friends who have had a BA in the UK you have to be careful to find a surgeon who has experience of TS women.  Due to generally having a wider rib cage we often need wider lower profile implants than a genetic woman to avoid the widely spaced no cleavage look.

A friend had BA a few years back and they look great in a bra with a low cut top.  She wants to have them redone with wider low profile implants as her breasts look strange when you see her undressed.

I had much the same problem, I had saline implants but they never felt right somehow, anyway I had them redone and replaced by silicone implants, I went from a 36C to 36DD, they look and feel fantastic, sometimes I think I went too big, got out of bed this morning just looking in the mirror, with my low cut night dress the silicone gave me a great cleavage, even better with a push up bra, I really like what I see, should have gone for silicone implants in the first place, well you live and learn, when I get older will they sag, Iv asked this question before but never got an answer, but for now Im very pleased with my girls.

If your going thru hell, just keep going.

Sara, the last pic..how long was that post op..  I am wondering because i got 410cc coheasive implants and i do not have any cleavage yet.  It is like a large C cup.  I do the massaging, for about 7wks still nothing.  The dr said they will soften up, but i am concerned about the comming together part.

Im alittle concerned because i had 410cc highly coheasive silicone implants.  They are made by Allergan, but it has been 7wks and still are pretty firm and no cleavage.  They are about a large C ciup or medium C.  but there is this big gap between them.  I am massaging them like im supposed to.  Will the come  together?? or will i always have this gap?  the dr say that they will soften up allowing them to come together more with a bra, but i still dont want this gap..Am i  going to have to redo them with a larger implant.  They are the Allergan 410mx model with the high profile and contour on the bottom and textured.  Here is the link and they are the middle one on the bottom of the page: http://www.natrelle.ca/410_rightFit.asp

Just a note that it takes months and months for the skin to streach and get the proper LOOK.  For me it took about 6 months or more for things to look good.  As to cleavage, for some, me for one the chest is wide and getting tight cleavage is not really going to happen.  Still That does happen with larger GG's too.

^Yes, i was told about the 6 months, but he said he should know prob in 3 if it will get to that point.  Im not a very big girl, so i dont think that is the prob here.  Ill wait it out for another couple months.
