how long since estrogen did you feel something happening with your breasts?

Even though it's a bit different now as I started over a year ago for 3-4 months, had growth and was stopped of estrogen.

Now over a year later I am prescribed estrogen again and praying for growth pains again or anything to tell me it's not stopped and not staying how it is right now..

Estrogen WILL cause your breasts to develop, period.
AFAIK , little actual fibrous tissue is laid down during the first 6 months of Estrogen and if HRT is stopped in that time any fat laid down there under it's influence will get re-absorbed or redistributed under the renewed direction of testosterone.

- for Estrogen to be effective you NEED an anti-androgen as Testosterone blocks the effects of Estrogen.
Indeed, breast development will usually occur (slowly) if you take only a powerful anti-androgen without any extra estrogen as the small but significant amount of estrogen naturally in the male body is enough to do it - it is the testosterone that holds it in check.

Read this very interesting article by Dr Richard Curtis

Spiro was intended to reduce high blood pressure first and foremost.  Any anti-androgenic effects are side effects of the medication which means that not everyone will get these desired effects.  At best with Spiro we can say that there is an association with this medication and a decrease in androgens in the patient.

Steffi thank you for posting that link.  Curtis's paper is very interesting.  I was one of those people who thought that tubular breasts were due to not taking progesterone now I know differently!

I am not sure how you came to believe that I am not taking antiandrogens.

I been on antiandrogens since the start, it's just that I have been on estrogen for about 3-4 months and then was stopped from it (kept androcur) for a year and restarted estrogen one month ago.

I didn't believe anything hun - you didn't stipulate either way so I was just answering as fully as I could to cover the issue as broadly as possible.  :)

- so if you were taking AA's the whole time, I guess that during the time you were without estrogen, you still maintained the bust development you had so far?

I don't think it decreased no.
I am not sure how long after estrogen until it started growing/being painful.
Now I am on estrogens again for about 1 month and a half and still waiting :D

I've been on HRT for 10 years and I'm still disappointed I haven't got breasts. In the beginning you do feel something but I haven't got anywhere near what you would call female breast development.
