Just a short introduction

Hello!  I figure I should introduce myself a little since I will be hanging around here now.

I'm a 25'ish young person who recently decided for sure about MTF transition.  I realized when I was about 10 that I felt differently than other boys and since then have been waffling back and forth on where to place myself.  I did a little dressing in secret around middle school, then suppressed it all throughout high school.  I finally ended up giving up on suppressing it in college because I was getting to be very suicidal, then I managed to scrounge up enough cash for 3 months of hormones to try.  At that point, I realized transition is definitely what I want.  Once I ran out of hormones, I did the whole "self reflection off of hormones thing" and tried out having a girlfriend just to be sure (which didn't work out).  Once I got my job, I began saving money like crazy, and I think I'm finally at the point 2 years later where I'm comfortable enough financially to start again.  And so it begins...

But anyway! Aside from that overly general history, I'm a pretty shy person who likes bad puns and fantasy novels. I don't know how much I'll be posting, but I'm out here :)

Hi Kieri, welcome!

I can see some of my life in your introduction as I'm sure others do as well.

Welcome to Susan's, Kieri.

I wish you luck in your quest.  I hope in your financial plans you have allowed for some counseling and hormones under a physician's supervision.  Yeah, you can take some pills, but this is a difficult, complicated process.  I don't want to discourage you - I really wish you well - but I really believe this isn't a DIY project.

Look around.  There are plenty of folks like you here (plus some who are *ahem* considerably older ;)).

Good luck!
