Unconditional Acceptance

Something I've noticed about music - at least, with the songs I regularly listen to and love - is that, to me, each song has a distinct, physical sensation to it, a sort of sensory remembrance brought about by the feel of a certain song or other.

Example: "We Are All To Blame" by Sum 41: to me, this song "feels" like cold water gushing through my fingers.

Now, I may be crazy, but I was wondering if anyone else had ever experienced something similar, and/or if there's a name that can be put to this kind of...perception, for lack of a better word.

Any thoughts?

Hmm. . . know it's late, but I'm posting anyway.

Lots of people as far as I know get goosebumps that they won't admit to with moving music. As for a name for what you're feeling, the name is synesthesia(sp?).

Huh...I wonder why they won't admit to the goosebumps?

And thanks for the term, SilverFang. Much appreciated  :D

I can feel different types of music like vibrations through different parts of my body, and yep, I get the goosebumbs with songs that strike a nerve with me.
and synesthesia's the right word, I get that a little too. Sight => flavor is my pattern.

Anytime I listen to old Black Sabbath, something like Sweet Leaf, I feel like a 16yr old again sitting in the princepal's office w/two drops of liquid LSD in each eye starting to kick in. The sun was REALLY bright that day!!!

Paparazzi by Lady GaGa gets my body moving and I Turn To You by Christina Aguilera gets my emotional state moving!

Music has a long history with the human body and likely will be around forever!!! =]
