ok i tried an interesting experiment today i think everyone should hear i went into reqular chat rooms and basically outed my self. the responce was not what i expected i got several ims from people wanting to chat i made two new freinds and got hit on twice over a couple of days. of course i got the usual dogs as well who just wanted on line cyber, but i found that most people were generally curious about the condition and what it was like. so i have reformulated my views based on this expierence i think the ones that are hostile are a bunch of backwards thinking retards who cant operate a computer or anything else more complicated then a pushmower, and should one should be able to spot them coming and since like attracts like it is safe to assume that a pack of them would be substantially more dangerous. I know one guy in chat tried to say something deragatory and was shouted out by several other females and males which surprised me.

Jessica,

Most of the people you meet on-line are very nice, however be careful in taking an on-line friendship into real life. There are a few predators out there and you only have to meet one to ruin your day.

Be careful, be safe.

Not to mention, online is a different set of people. People online see far more diverse group of people than those who aren't, and therefore more accepting, at least online. Online is also more often filled with a younger generation, especially the groups you are in, which are more accepting.

In person, and in groups especially, the "mob mentality" can be an issue. They don't want their friends to see them acting like it is acceptable.

There are nice people out there though.

You're right, it's probably not as bad as you think out there - but you should be careful not to confuse the internet with the real world.

I have to say my real world is very functional and fairly ordered. The areas I have worked have never lent themselves to the creative side of my nature.

Reading through some of this forum makes me realize still, how diverse people can be yet similar in sexual orientation and or diverse in gender.

In other chat rooms where I always use a nicname, I wouldn't dream of opening up myself as I feel able to here.

this was just an interesting expierment for me i wanted to guage the reaction of the general on line community i would not dream of setting up a meeting or any other rl event in a chat room face to face still is prefered. the fact that they were not openly hostile was good for my heart lol i like to think the world is less evil then it is
