I'm Sara Lynn, and it's nice to be here.  I've been on the BL board for about a year, and I thought I'd say hello over here.  I'm 57 years old, I'm well into my RLE, and I've been on HRT for 20 months.  Surgery - GCS, BAS and FFS are scheduled for March 2010.  I'm no longer just comfortable in my skin, I'm TOTALLY at home.  I'm still at my same job, still living in my house with my SO, and still have friends and family.  Could it be better?  Oh, yes - I could have been born female and I wouldn't have to have gone through this!!!  That said, transition has been quite the roller coaster ride, and easily the most challenging thing I've ever undertaken - and the most rewarding.

Hi Sara Lynn, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 3400 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister. :icon_hug:

And be sure to check out

There is something about that middle name I just love.  Can't figure out what?  ;D

Blessed Be.

Thank you, Janet!

I'm a simple girl, and if I could just figure out how to modify my profile information, I'd be very happy!

Thank you, again.  I'm sure it will be nice to be here.  There is quite a large population here, so there is bound be stimulation.

Hi Sara,

Congrats on your smooth transition!  Wow, March will be here in no time.  :)

I may be wrong about this, but I think the problem you are encountering with changing your profile has to do with your low post count.  At least at one time, you needed to have posted 15 times before you could edit your profile.

I understand this 15  posts still stand  Sara. It did with me, not long over 15.  ;)

Well, I can come up with 15 of nonsense very easily!!  ;D

Thanks for the well wishes.  My surgery, the SRS and BAS is March 24, and the FFS is March 26.  I'll be a "Kamol Girl" when it's all over.  I'm going to Thailand!  It's 166 days away...and who is counting, anyway?

Hugs!  ~~~~ Sara Lynn

Yes, my transition has been relatively smooth.  I passed very well in no time, and that had a lot to do with it.  Passing is not even a worry anymore.  It hasn't been for almost a year.  I get up, get dressed, and go face my day.  As a woman.  As I should.  :)

Welcome to Susan's, Sara Lynn.

I'm glad for you things are going so well for you. :)  How wonderful that your family is accepting.  Many here have not had that experience. :(

My experience has been the same.  Hang on and have fun!

Hi, Kate!

Thank you!  I like your avatar, by the way!

It's rare many have an "easy" ride, isn't it?  I've had my share of bumps, my wife being one of them.  However...trade this?  Oh, no.  I'm fully who I should be (am), a woman.  The feeling is indescribable...

Hi and welcome to Susan's!

This is a really great place with lots of info and also a lot of really caring and helpful people. Jump right on in and start sharing your opinions, feelings, experiences. It's what helps us all relate to one another and give and receive the support we're here for. ;D

As for getting to your 15 posts though, be careful not to "pad" your count with "nonsense" as the mods keep an eye out for this. But I'm sure once you start looking around, you'll find more than enough topics you can contribute to without resorting to padding. ;)

Thank you, James!  It's nice to meet you.

As for "padding", really, I have no reason to do that, I was just being flip.  I am a regular on the Beginning Life boards, and I don't need to "run up the count" here.

It'll be my pleasure to share!  That's why I'm here.

Hugs! ~~~~ Sara Lynn

That's great that you have lots to share. I hope you didn't feel that I was chastising you for your comment about post count padding, I warn everyone of that rule when they ask about the 15 post requirement for editing their profile. ;D

No, no worries - I don't feel you were chastising me at all!  :)  Actually, I feel it's good rule, and a nice idea.

As for sharing, I love to hear what others experience, not just me "hold forth".  In the end, transitioning is an individual affair.  There are common threads, sure, just as there are with GID overall, but - each of us has our own experiences.  Each is rich...I just love that!
