Happy motoring Chris.

Despite being the first mother's day since my Mum died last July, it was a good week-end. Friday my son had an interview with IBM and got thee job he wanted. Saturday I had volunteered like I do every year to conduct mock interviews for the V.E.C. (Vocational Educational Commitee) students. I was really impressed by their level of preparation and afterwards we had a great dinner afterwards for all the volunters where I was able to catch up with some old friends and ex workmates. Sunday my son gave me a hand to do some spring cleaning in the house. All is well.

Debbie tell us about Paris.  Is your wife one of the 6 other women?  Any particular reason to be in Paris?

......
Today my oldest daughter will do a stop over in the Atlanta airport on her way back to college.  She took her break and did some volunteer work in Texas.  The first day of her arrival in Texas they went over the border to visit Mexico and my daughter ate some "Mexican bacteria" at a restuarant and was in bed the entire break. My wife and I will chat with her for a few minutes in person this afternoon!

.......
Back in April/May of 1985 my wife and I went to Paris with a corporate function.  We had been living in Atlanta at the time and the temperature was in the upper 80's.  I remember standing in line to see the Palace at Versailles and it was damp and in the upper 30's and I was dressed as if in Atlanta in May.  I loved being in the Palace for more reasons then just its beauty!

A coworker who has made it pretty obvious he likes me came to my cube the other day while I was in the process of putting on a bit of lotion and foundation, I'm pretty lazy so sometimes I just sleep the extra 5-10 minutes of everyday makeup :P. So he goes "Why do you wear that? You look great without it!". This is the guy who has also asked me if I have a twin sister who's single... LOL.

I got a pass today from an old fart.  He said "Hello blondie! So do blondes really have more fun?".  I haven't had any one make a pass at me for some time cause I'm feeling like I'm getting to be an old fart myself ;)

I wish that I would have had a smart and funny response.  But I didn't.  I just told him that I had heard the rumour but could not verify that it was true.

It was all in good fun and there was nothing serious to it.  It just sort of felt good to be noticed by ANYBODY.  Sometimes I think that I'm a 5'11" invisible woman.

Cindi you are excellent with words!  Isn't it great to be invisible?  That is my goal but people warn me against that!

Just a few days ago I passed a 73 year old widowed male neighbor while taking a walk.  We chatted in passing.  When  "Bill" passed me he called out, "You look a lot better than you did a year ago.  You look great."  I had a pregnant pause.  After a few seconds I called out "Thanks!" in my deep male voice.  Wow this is very funny!  I am removing my beard, I dress like a girl at night, and I have digested a massive muscular male frame (50 pounds in one year).  I can only do "girl-push-ups" from being able to do one-arm push-ups.  I do understand your words.

Oh yeah something wonderful today.  (I seem to have developed an uncanny ability to talk and talk and talk.)   My 18 year-old son (girls on book-ends) hit his first home-run in varsity AAAA baseball today Friday March 14th 2008.  My son is an excellent athlete.  (He is a "white boy" and can palm a basketball and stuff it down the hoop at 5'11''.) I can not throw a baseball have a vertical leap of 12 inches ... but my son can not draw within a box.  (I have phenomenal micro skills and lack macro eye-hand.  I throw like a girl and my daughters throw like guys.  Of cause my son has the same skills as my wife.)  Unfortunately I missed my son's home run because I was "forced" to visit my "electrologist" today.

I think there are a few people that understand my words on this forum.  I am proud of my son and I will have some Southwestern chicken ready for him when he gets home tonight!

Good for you Wendy!  Life goes on and we move forward or not.  You can never stay the same.  Congrats to your son on the home run too.  It sounds so nice to be able to have interaction with your children as they grow up.  I missed out on a lot of that living so far away from mine.

Today was Hubby's birthday. I got him a beautiful card and took him to dinner at one of his favorite places.  We came home and shared some chocolate chip cookies.  I love cookies.  MMMM.

What a wonderful day.

If that gallant gentleman's remark brightened your day why call him a fart? Unless his smell of roses!  :D

Ms Bev

I'm slowly developing a lesbian niche market in my sales position, and the other day, a cute couple I was working with had a ....discussion.....seems the one partner was of the opinion that I was flirting with the other, and she was jealous.  Yeow!   I don't want to cause discord, or make anyone think I am available, because I am not, but it's a relief to think some other women found me attractive enough to be jealous.
A little validation goes a loooong way with an oldish lady.  Is that vain or what?

mildly vain Bev

(Marcy says 'wildly' vain)

Well I thought I was done with my attracting guys days, but I still have some gawking at me during the summer months when I wear knee length sun dresses. Can't be to picky though because I am an old fart, well I prefer being called an old bat.  ;D

Hi Lucy,
Congratulations!
Oh... a celebratory drink is O.K?  Well in that case sure!

Hey I wore a black headband yesterday to keep my hair in place.  When I picked up my 16-year old daughter at school yesterday she said, "Dad that headband is feminine and you need to get a haircut."

At dinner my wife said you look like Nadal. (Rafael Nadal does wear a black Tennis headband.)  My wonderful thing for the day is my wife and family.

Over the last two days I got to Umpire in an International Little League Competition.

3 Softball games as home plate umpire, 1 baseball game at home plate and two as field umpire.

Home plate at Baseball is scary, even 11 year olds throw that ball damn hard.....
