Nothing in the North Cobb High School student manual bans students from wearing opposite-gender clothing, but one recent arrival from Miami says he was told not to report to school unless he was dressed as a boy.

Jonathan Escobar, 16, of Kennesaw, withdrew himself from North Cobb after three days after he said a school administrator told him to come to school dressed in gender appropriate clothing.

"Her exact words were, 'You cannot dress in the opposite sex,'" Escobar said he was told after three days of coming to school in skinny jeans and feminine-cut tops.
