Hi there,

I was wondering what my female name should be. My first name is Christopher right now, and I was hoping to keep it similar to that, but it needs to be somewhat unique. Not Christina or Christine.

I do like Chrissa or Chrissi, but everyone says that Chrissi is for dumb blonde whores (no offense to anyone).

I also am trying to think of a middle name that would work. I am thinking of Diane, because that is my mom's middle name, and that would have been my middle name if I was born female.

Open to suggestions!

Chris

Crystal, Kristanna, Christiana, Christiane

These are all names of people I know/have heard of.

I think Contessa would work well! =]

Middle name could be Diane or Dinah! They both mean the same! :]

I like Christiana.  It sounds a bit exotic. :)  Or Christy.

I know what you mean about some variations being OK and some not.  I am Katherine or Kate but never Kathy. >:(

Your legal name and the one you go by - the one your friends call you - don't have to be the same.

What about Christa like the former astronaut?

Yeah, I think I will go with Christiana. They can call me Chris still or Chrissi for short too!

Does Christiana Diane sound ok?

Chris

First suggestion - Stop hanging around with "Everyone".
Second suggestion - Don't write something that would be offensive to some once read and try to smooth it over.

I am in the same situation, birth name is christopher edward (I hate and never use that middle name, lol). I kinda' like Christine, however, when I asked my mom what name she would have used it she had a daughter, she said Savanna Nicole, which I like also. I would like to use Christine, as people could still call me Chris for short, but I thank Savanna Nicole has more meaning to it.

Christiana sounds good also

Aren't names funny things!  I like the idea of stepping well away from your birth name personally, but that is just my opinion.

A good old fashioned way to test out a name (this is originally for parents trying to name children)....

Go to the front door of your house and yell out the name for 10mins (i.e trying to call your child home for dinner); if you still like it then it works lol

I have the same quirk about my name (even though it's not legally mine yet :(), I like James, Jay, even Jamesy (depending on who's saying it... ;)) but NEVER Jim.

I still like Diane or Danielle for a middle name. Anyone know any cool related names for these ones?

Diana - roman godess of the hunt, and a certain famous british princess.

If you go with Christiana then Diana isn't good.  Part of the process should be to say the various combinations aloud, and to me Christiana Diana doesn't work.  Don't forget to do it with your last name too, off course.

But Diana is a really nice name. :)  I kind of wish I had used that for my middle name (but I have trouble picturing myself as a Diana :P).
