Answer: The murder trial of Joel C. Allen is scheduled to begin next month after a judge last month declared him mentally to stand trial.
Allen, 64, is charged with second-degree murder for fatally stabbing 35-year-old Jason Namauu on July 17 last year. Police said Allen stabbed Namauu as the two sat in Allen's car near Cartwright Neighborhood Park in Makiki, then fled on foot when people who witnessed the stabbing intervened.
