Quote from: Leslie Ann on October 19, 2009, 11:25:28 PMCould be a snafu, or it could have been scam. I know there are people calling saying you are behind in an effort to get you to pay right then on the phone.
Quote from: Virginia Marie on October 21, 2009, 09:07:25 PMYup, there are a butt load of scams going on right now. Phishing for mortgages, credit cards, bank accounts. You name it, someone is after it.Best off to do what you did Julie and go directly to the mortgage co., bank etc. that you deal with.
Quote from: Julie Marie on October 19, 2009, 04:45:02 PMTalk about a hypersensitive economic environment! I got a letter from my mortgage company the other day and it said I was in default for not paying the last two mortgage payments. I haven't even been late on a mortgage payment since I got divorced. I'm freaking out thinking they didn't get my payments and that someone else has the money. So I called them and got put through the usual automated nightmare. Along the way it said the balance owed was $0 and the next payment was due in November. Things must be pretty touch and go at the mortgage companies! Has anyone had this happen to them? Julie
QuoteNow I signed up for automatic E-mail notice when they post the payment.
Quote from: CindyJames on October 22, 2009, 02:25:38 AMI was hounded for a debt of $0 and they even threatened court action. In the end I had to give them a cheque for $0. I gave it to them personally and photographed handing the cashier the cheque.
