The teen who sparked controversy at North Cobb High School by challenging gender norms is returning to Miami.

Jonathan Escobar, 16, of Kennesaw, withdrew from North Cobb after three days after saying a school administrator told him to come to school dressed in male clothing.

Escobar, who is listed as male on school documents according to administrators, but told Southern Voice the use of either pronoun is acceptable, said that the school required him to dress in masculine clothing or be home schooled. School district officials said Escobar was only asked to wear less disruptive clothing.
