the bodies of Vimlesh (47) and Meena (31) had started to rot when they found them around 10.30am on Tuesday, suggesting they were killed at least two days ago. Their throats were slashed and the house was ransacked, with cash and jewellery worth several lakhs missing.
Police officers said Khalil Ahmed, a resident of Jaitpur and a close associate of Vimlesh, had made a PCR call on Tuesday stating the eunuch had not come out of his house for the past three days. "This was odd because Vimlesh was a `guruji' the person who received collection that eunuchs made in the area each day and was overall responsible for the management of eunuchs. So, we sent a team to inspect,'' said a senior police officer.
