I don't know about the rest of you but I have always had perfect teeth. They stay white, straight, and I've never had a cavity or anything of the sort... but I had my wisdom teeth pulled today. It was about half an hour ago and now the numbness is starting to wear off. I'm aching a little but nothing too bad yet. I know it can be really bad for some people but mine came out rather easy. Hopefully the pain inst too horrible once its in full swing.
How was it for anyone else? ever had your teeth pulled? Should I drown myself in medication....

I've had about a dozen of my teeth pulled (total) cos my mouth is ridiculously small. Wisdom teeth grew in facing completely inwards, so that if they grew theyd be poking out horizontally. So no doubt i had to go into surgery right away. Feel better, bro :)

I had all 4 pulled @ once as prevention b4 my insurance expired, about 20yrs ago. I really thought I could just suck it up, but I literally could not spit. God ty for the next paycheck when I could buy a bottle of Yukon Jack!

It's going back to my Grandfather, when men were men and women were men as well (that was meant to be a joke ).

He had all of his teeth removed in one sitting with no anaesthetic. Then walked back to his workplace and did a his normal days work.

I demand an anaesthetic to open my mouth. (that gives some people a lead in)

I have had teeth pulled and root canals done, and the only thing I have taken was Tylenol.

Yeah. Its been a week and nothing has hurt. My jaw was a little stiff but I literally took no medicine. I was only worried because I've heard horror stories. Apparently the real worry is getting a dry socket but I didn't get any so I think I'm in the clear.
The only thing that was annoying was all the bleeding after they pulled them out. Took a few hours to stop and my mouth still would bleed a little afterwards so I tasted blood for a good three days. Mmm Iron.

You need to AVOID something called DRY SOCKET if it means subsisting on milkshakes for weeks that's still preferable to the agony that is DRY SOCKET.

Nope not had it just heard the stories.

I had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled at the same time, and later I had surgery to remove all my upper teeth because I had so much trouble with them.  Now I only have 6 teeth, bottom-front.  If the doctor gave you pain medicine, take it like it says.  You may want to rest for a couple of days because it WILL be sore.  Eat soups and drink see-through liquids (just in case you get sick and throw up), avoid alcohol and smoking (to avoid a dry socket... I had them, and they are very painful).

I remember sleeping a lot when I had mine pulled.  When the numbness wore off, I tried to take it like a good sport.
Good luck!!  Sorry if I'm a little late on the reply.  But it may help someone else in the future.  :-)
