I have been doing HRT for about 7 months. My doc has been conservative because of past medical issues. I have had some breast development and my skin is sooo soft but thats about it. My dose was more than doubled several weeks ago and now my breasts are hurting like crazy!!! :( I was told they may feel tender but this is over the top. They have developed hard painful knots that feel like golf balls. While my breasts ache the pain in my nipples is sharp. I went without a bra while at home and couldn't even take my top brushing against them. The ache feels like a very sore muscle so without thinking I start rubbing them, to my total surprise I got this shot of sexual excitement that went through my entire body. I have not felt sexual in months and now the right touch of my nipples almost makes me orgasm. I'm worried about the intense pain, how much is normal?

the amount of discomfort during breast development varies, you got unlucky x_x

(but yes, there have been times when I've had growing pains that were nothing short of annoying, and times where I wanted to change tops because of discomfort from the fabric rubbing the wrong way)

All I ever gone was some tenderness is my nipples and that was for about a month or so.  And then zip.  I do notice some growth but nothing like pain.  They do ichy even now and then.

I had pretty serious tenderness at first, if anything touched them I would yelp! Now I pretty much wear a bra at all times (except sleeping) and that helps. For the first 6 months or so it was more intense, but it seems to have gotten to where they are only sore now if I press on them. The hard knot is normal tissue growth, we all get it.

Thanks for the input. Gosh, I never imagined hurting like this. I have found that tightening my bra helps so they don't bounce. I'm almost a B cup which seems crazy, everything I've read said not to expect much since I'm in my 40's. Hope it eases soon.

one trick that worked for me was to sit with a heating pad on them. I got an extra long one at Walmart that was large enough to wrap under each arm, and it did seem to ease the torment somewhat. But the arousal factor is definitely a nice side effect lol

Thanks fairygirl, I have a large heating pad I used to put under my little dogs bed. I'll try it. Was wondering, does the arosal thing continue after the painful part stops or are they related some how?

I've been on hormones for almost seven months.  My breasts have been tender since about month 1.  Doing anything to make them bounce makes them hurt.  (Sometimes just driving over railroad tracks. :P)  I learned to be careful in the shower so that the stream wouldn't hit them full force or they would really hurt.  I wear a bra except when I sleep or shower.  Now, for some reason I can roll onto my right side OK when I sleep but if I roll on to my left side I have to pull the little girl out of the way or it hurts.

Isn't puberty fun?

I've never had any breast pain at any time and I've been on HRT for more than 10 years. At the start I could feel them growing but no pain.

I remember my rapid growth period.

Within the first sector of hormone intake I grew into an A cup quite rapidly, when I would walk without wearing support it would hurt because everything was just jiggly sort of speak.

thats when bra shelf tank tops became my friend! if you wear anything to compress your chest softly it won't hurt as much.

Also it wlil protect from little oopsy's of hitting them by accident.

Go to walmart, im sure you can find a tank top with a bra shelf, what I mean by that is its a bank in the tank top as if its a bra built in.

Try to get something soft all around with no padding, the padding ones look really weird.

I bought all my stuff from the lasenza.com website in the spirit wear back in the day

but if your like me I understand your pain till i figured these shirts out!
