For the first time in its history, Atlanta Pride will hold a Trans March to raise awareness of transgender people among the gay community.

"We hope the event increases inclusion of the trans community and brings visibility to issues important to transgender and gender-variant people," said Jamie Ferguson, chairperson of Atlanta Pride's Outreach Committee.

The march will take place inside the park to ensure participants are seen and heard, Ferguson added.
