Your post is not stupid. You could however get stupin replies. Mine might one of them.

I activate In Private browsing in Windows Internet Explorer. No chance of anyone finding out my browsing history.

Not wanting to be a pain in the neck but cerious is correctly spelt as curious.

I started therapy a few weeks before my parents went on a several week vacation. My therapist encouraged me to use the freedom to experiment with my presentation, so I did. The day they flew back I did all my laundry, my girl clothes first to get that out of the way, then my work clothes. I apparently had a pair of panties in with my work stuff that I didn't notice. My mom started her laundry that night and I had left my work clothes in the dryer, thinking I had time in the morning to take care of it. So when I went to take care of it in the morning I found a neatly folded pile of clothes, including my panties in the middle. I just about died right there...but she never brought it up.

When I finally came out to her she said she had rationalized that in some way and didn't think too much about it, while I had a massive panic attack ::)

edit:

Thinking about it more - I used to keep a diary/journal type thing on a PDA (back before phones did everything under the sun).  I lost the PDA on a city bus one day, that freaked me out for a while.  I got over it though because I didn't actually have anything identifiable on it - just some notes and the journal.  So somewhere out there is someone who found a PDA with a whole lot of messages about how very badly I wished I had been a girl back in like 1999.  If only things had clicked into place back then!

I haven't had any other "close calls" though, as far as I know.  And definitely not with technology, after losing the PDA I got super paranoid about protecting data.  I'll admit I take way more risks of people finding things now because I have the mindset that it's just a matter of time anyway.  Plus it would kick my ass into coming out to more people...maybe my subconscious is forcing the issue :P

This is exactly why I have a computer of my own. This is also why my hard drives are protected by industrial-grade encryption algorithms, my browser doesn't even save history and deletes temp files on closing it, and why I use the Windows-key+L to lock my desktop every single time I leave the computer. And why my passwords are chosen so that you can't guess them becouse there's no apparent logic in them, and using the so called 'brute force' methods to brake them would literally take months. :D A little paranoid maybe but I value my privacy.  ;D

Of course, that isn't nearly enough to avoid possible close calls. Right now it's a typical Sunday afternoon here and my parent are both home. The problem is, their computer is right behind my back so they see my screen every time they go to their computer or leave it. I'll just need to minimize the browser window every time they look at my screen. It's just a matter of time before they see what this forum is... Oh, and did I mention that I usually have my headphones on and I don't even hear them enter the room?  ;D

The only real close call so far has been when I just couldn't help laughing at this post: https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,67260.msg451057.html#msg451057. My mom came to see what I was laughing at and it'd have been a little too suspicious to minimize the window right in front of her. I did manage to scroll the page so that she didn't see anything exept Janet Lynn's post. ;D

That how my ex found out that the 'Girl Thing', as we called it, was back.  We were having a little party and I had be drinking.  I went in to see what was happening on Susan's, when they went to do Karaoke and forgot to erase.

My step son found it and showed it to his mom.   :o That was when the feces hit the rotary oscillator.  :police:

Some years back we shared a computer, and one day my wife used "history" to try and find a file she had lost..

..she found some pictures and had just stared asking "who the woman was, that had been photographed in our garden". ::)

....when she realised it was me.. :o

..things have remained a little "complicated" ever since.. ::)

Complicated? I remember complicated.  :eusa_think: ...for the same reason.

I've always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you.

So let's make the most of this beautiful day,
Since we're together, we might as well say,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?" - Fred Rogers
