It was a destiny on that day. I did not want to face him, but eventually I had to say hello to him.

While returning home by airbus, I wore brand-new bootcut jeans and high-heel sandals, because I thought high heels are a must for bootcut. When entering the airplane, I saw a white man sit on the seat in the front. He was from the states and a scholar who I have met and chatted frequently. The day before, we also drank and chat together during a dinner reception party. Last year, he once saw my family.

I did not want him to see me on heels, and I did not say hello, just hurrying toward my seat in the back. Fortunately, he was taking a nap.

And in the baggage claim area after arriving. I had to pick up 3 bags, but just sat on the bench in the corner. I waited there until he picked up his baggage to leave. I saw one of my baggage circulating along the conveyer belt, but he still had not picked up his. I had to wait more.

And, suddenly, an attendant there shouted my manly full name. I assumed as if I did not hear it. He shouted my name 3 times. Finally, I went out to ask him what happened to my baggage. He replied that he picked up my bags because they were left on the belt too long time. He already took my 3 bags in a cart.

While moving the cart, I saw again the American man who was still waiting to pick up his bags. I had no choice but to say hello to him.

He needed guidance, and we had to go to the bus station together. His destination was the same as mine. We chatted together in the bus for an hour. Finally, we arrived at a hotel he is now staying at. I finally said goodby, going to my home.

I am not quite sure, but he certainly saw my wearing heels.  I did my best to avoid him, but eventually I became a nice guider for him. If I took the next airplane, or if the attendant was not so kind enough to take care of my bags, I would not have to accompany him. Tomorrow I am scheduled to meet him again at my work place.

What a quirk of life.

I just wish that he would not say anything about my heels tomorrow, and I believe he would not.
