I think I am a mixture of both probably like 60% right and 40% left

I think my brain is balanced. People with the INTP personality type often do have balanced brains.
I have no concrete idea of my gender identity, but I believe I am an Androgyne.

From that test I got 6 Left and 5 Right.

I guess I am in the middle in a lot of ways. I think being intuitive is just another name for logic, all you are doing it cutting out the middle steps and just not being concious of how you arrived at the answer.

Right brained.

And I disagree, Nicky. A lot of my intuition has nothing to do with logic. It's more out of the blue than steps skipped.

That's the beauty of intuition - just the unconcious mind doing stuff for you and then waving a flag for you to notice i.e. out of the blue. I still think there is a logic to it, you are just not conciously applying it.

I was thnking in particular of logic and intuition in mathmatics. In a lot of ways I am an intuitive mathmatician, just arriving at a solution and knowing when it is the right one without really understanding how I know. But if I take time to delve into it I can see the logic of it. Maybe my theory does not apply so much in other cases. Dunno. Seems logical to me  ;)

I wonder if we can foster this ability? I often try, with tricky problems, to not think about it. Usually this works really well. I just say "brain, work it out", and the answer pops up later in the day, or in the middle of the night. I wonder if this is the same thing as intuition though..hmmmm

That must make shaking hands awkward...

That makes sense: Intuition in a left-brained, logical context would be "logic with some steps skipped."
Intuition in a right-brained context wouldn't have the logical base and would seem more "out of the blue."

I think the idea of fostering this ability is a wonderful one-- leaving problems for your brain to solve on a level that you're not conscious of. And with "steps skipped" in the conscious logic, I think it would be intuition.

If we're not careful, we're going to stray into the area of magic-- communicating with the unconscious to have it solve problems.

Oh, two handed! Extra clean, just don't wear it out. When you are old and decrepid you won't have to worry about it, just get someone else to do it.

I did some more investigation and tests to do with right/left brain. Appears I am very much a right brained person. Perhaps my logic is intuition afterall - in terms of maths I probably just retrofit it afterwards. Of course if the answer is right in most cases with maths you can find a logical reason why it is right i.e. intuition with maths just looks like logical leaps.

Yes!

And doesn't it make such sense that we'd have trouble figuring out which side of a binary we're occupying at any moment!

When I took this test I came up with about 50% male and 50% female traits. It was this test that made me realize that I am an androgyne. Before then I had no clue.

And I have had two years since I took this test to think about it. I now see and understand the past events of my life in a whole new light. I'm now remembering a lot of things that were said by my parents (my dad thought I was too feminine and I think blamed my mother), and I remember my schoolyard days (pretty miserable), and so on.

It all now makes perfect sense.

Ahaha! In that test I got an exactly 50:50 split, with all of the results alternating. That was fun to get.  ;D (Small things amuse small minds...)
Altogether I got 5 of each. LRLRLRLRLR...  ;D

Sorry Laurry, I spoiled your Bell curve/flicking the bird thing. Now people visiting this site won't be nearly as insulted!  :D

On another forum, I came across a similar thread -- "What sex is your brain?"

You can take this test and see what you think!
