STEPHANIE Booth has built a built a business empire in North Wales, with six hotels in the region now in her stable.

This week on BBC1 Wales sees the start of a series taking a look behind the scenes at the challenges of running a hotel chain during the worst recession since the 1930s.

It shows Stephanie, a glamorous 63-year-old, along with her husband David fighting to keep her empire afloat.

She's not afraid to get her well- manicured hands dirty. If a room needs cleaning she will do it herself and she's even been known to unload a lorry in her high heels!
