North Carolina has One Stop Voting that allows you to vote early so you do not have any excuses on why you cannot get down there and vote!  It runs October 19 and ends on November 4.  Check your County Board of Elections to find the local hours and a location near you.

Equality North Carolina has put together a 2006 General Election Endorsement list.

I vote by mail every election.  That way I don't miss any of them.  It's very helpful to me since I live in the boonies.

Yeah, but this year's California ballot is gonna' cost extra postage...

Anybody in California found a list of endorsements that are trans-friendly?

I believe in casting my vote -- as far away from the current crop of bastids as possible, and as far away from any oppressive ballot measure disguised under a 'Family Values' or 'Family-Friendly' line of Bull-dada >:( >:( >:(

Remember that if you cannot find a friendly LGBT organisation that has done the research, go the opposite route.  Look up any local unfriendly groups and find out who they are endorsing.  Then just pick the other one running in the race.   ;D

The campaign in one area is getting very down and dirty.  The Republican even tried using the fact that his opponent was childless as a tactic.  The opponent's wife had a hysterectomy in the past.  Robinson (the Republican) has been in politics before and even had a 1 ton monument of the 10 Commandments erected in from of the Winston Salem city hall.   ::)

I wish you could vote AGAINST certain candidates.  In my localized election, I vote for three of six candidates for schoolboard.  I wish I could also vote against certain candidates, and have each negative vote cancel out a vote for the particular candidate.  Here's who I would vote against:

QuoteI was alarmed after reviewing the past years board agendas to find out that the current board is dealing with issues that have nothing to do education! I found they were spending their time voting on resolutions dealing with issues like United Nations policy and gay rights. They even managed to pass a proclamation opposing an illegal immigration bill. Political issues like sodomy and immigration should be kept out of the classroom - these issues should be debated and voted on by our legislators and not our school board members!

article here

A total of 66 members of the California Senate and Assembly voted in support of EQCA-sponsored legislation 90 percent of the time, or more. Those lawmakers represent more than half of the state's entire legislative body. In addition, 51 legislators stood up for every EQCA-sponsored measure that came up for a vote.

LIT, you don't participate much in the forums.   We don't get a chance to know you very well.  You sure help us all by finding all of these news links though!  I'd like to thank you for the work that you do.  I know you spend a lot of time on this.

Thanks Cindi.  :)  I participate here and there.  My transition is about complete and I have lived a very different life than most.  I do throw an opinion here or there at times and try to help as I can.

Google Earth Rocks the Vote

After Google turned on the links Sunday night, Google Earth users can see stars on the U.S. map wherever there is a race in the November 7 election. A number of congressional seats and state governorships are up for grabs.

Clicking on a star opens up a bubble with information about races in that area and links to a variety of information resources, such as the Web sites for the Federal Election Commission and the Center for Responsive Politics's OpenSecrets.org, which gathers information about campaign contributions. Below each candidate are links that trigger Google Web, image and news searches about them.
